Would Joe Biden pardon Hunter? KJP says no

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked Thursday during the daily press briefing if President Biden would pardon Hunter Biden. Her answer was quick, short, and definitive. She said, “No.” That was it. She refused to say more and moved on to another reporter.

The arrogance of this press secretary and the Biden White House is eye-opening. The president who promised to have the most transparent administration ever hides from the press corps and his press secretary simply refuses to answer questions. She keeps saying she isn’t going to talk about this or that when it is her job to talk. It’s what the taxpayers pay her to do.

As we all know now, Hunter Biden’s sweetheart plea deal fell apart at the last minute when the judge in the case realized the legal tomfoolery going on between Hunter’s legal team and the DOJ. By tomfoolery I mean collusion. Everything that Democrats accused the previous administration of doing is being done by them. The Biden family is protecting The Big Guy and Hunter’s plea deal is a part of that. As most people have noted, if anyone else had done what Hunter is accused of doing, that person would be in jail.

It is probably not a coincidence that the special counsel rushed out additional charges to Trump’s indictments concerning the handling of classified documents yesterday. DOJ wanted to distract from the disappointment of Hunter’s plea deal falling apart. Squirrel! There is always a pivot back to Trump. Where we are now is that Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor tax charges and he’ll be back in court soon.

Joe Biden is keeping his distance from the press. So, a reporter asked KJP if Biden would pardon his son. Her answer caught most people off-guard because it was so swift and final. No. Just no. Was she told to say that? It’s like she was ready for that question and we know from watching her press briefings that she is rarely prepared to answer a question on her own. She refers back to her briefing book and reads an answer prepared for her.

Fox News’ Mark Meredith asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the possibility as Hunter Biden faces ongoing legal issues and federal investigations.

“I know you said not a lot has changed since yesterday and it’s a personal matter, but, from a presidential perspective, is there any possibility that the president would end up pardoning his son?” Meredith asked.

“No,” Jean-Pierre replied.

When Meredith attempted to press further, she insisted, “I just said no. I just answered.”

Maybe it had something to do with a Fox News White House correspondent asking the question but she was not going to entertain the question any more than she had to. Whatever the reason, it was odd. Does anyone believe her? I don’t for a minute. Joe Biden will pardon his son in a heartbeat, if necessary. The Biden Crime Family is tight-knit and they protect each other. Look no further than Hunter’s sweetheart plea deal. It was all about protecting The Big Guy.

Maybe it is because of what my friend Melissa tweets – they don’t expect to need a pardon.

Legal eagle Jonathan Turley posted a Twitter thread summing it up.

Turley writes that Biden could pardon Hunter, if necessary, and then resign. I just don’t see Biden willingly leaving office. He’s clinging to power as it is, running for re-election despite historically low approval ratings from all voters – Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. No one wants him to run again, yet, here we are. And, if he leaves office before the election, we’re stuck with Kamala as president. Even fewer people want that than they do another term for Biden. Her numbers are lower than his. Americans lose either way.

We are in a mess. It is so important that Republican primary voters choose wisely and nominate someone who can beat Joe Biden in 2024. I’m getting a sinking feeling that Republicans will fumble the election. I hope we don’t have a second Biden-Harris term and lose the House.
