There was a shooting just after 11am at a Nashville high school. Two female students were shot and one was killed. The shooter then shot himself and died at the scene.

One student is dead and another is hospitalized with a gunshot wound following a shooting Wednesday at a Nashville high school cafeteria.

The shooter, a 17-year-old student, fatally shot himself after firing multiple shots at Antioch High School just after 11 a.m. CT, police said at a news conference. The shooter was armed with a pistol, authorities said.

A female student suffered a graze wound to the arm and is in stable condition at the hospital. A male student was also treated for a facial injury, but was not shot.

Antioch High School is located east of Nashville:

Antioch High School is home to approximately 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12, according to its website. The school is located Nashville’s Antioch neighborhood, about 10 miles southeast of downtown.

There's video from the scene and while it doesn't show anything you can hear several shots being fired and then someone says "He shot himself."

I'm seeing some additional claims on X about the identity of the shooter but I'm not going to post them yet because nothing has been confirmed. Authorities also haven't said anything about a possible motive yet but it has only been a few hours so that's not surprising. 

I'll update this post later in the day once we know more. For now, he's the latest update from police.

Update: Police have identified the shooter and the victim.

On Wednesday afternoon, MNPD identified the victim who died as 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante and the shooter as 17-year-old Solomon Henderson. Police are currently in the process of identifying the other students.

This is the name I saw circulating earlier. He is a black male who appears to have had some pretty extreme views.

There are also reports that he livestreamed his attack on a site called Kick. 

There are several different "manifestos" circulating online at least one of which appears to be bogus. Another one circulating uses the N-word about two dozen times and suggests the shooter hated black people. That same documents mentions influences that include some well known YouTubers on the right and left. I don't think this has been verified yet so I'm not going to post it here but I'm sure we'll hear more about this soon.
