Gov. Rick Scott heckled at Starbucks: 'You're an a--hole!'

Governor Rick Scott of Florida was shouted at by an activist dubbed the “radical cheerleader of Lake Worth” when he stopped at a Starbucks in Gainesville for a cup of coffee. Self-described anarchist Cara Jennings told WFTS in Tampa Bay she was prompted to call the Governor an “asshole” after reading about a bill which would cut funds from Planned Parenthood:

Jennings told ABC Action News she just happened to be working in the Starbucks on her laptop when she noticed the Florida governor enter.

“I saw his profile, and I thought, ‘Is that the governor?’” she said.

She’d been reading about Scott signing a bill that cuts money for Planned Parenthood and seized the opportunity to speak her mind.

“I didn’t think about whether I should do it or not,” she told ABC Action News. “I thought, ‘Here’s my chance to tell the governor how I feel about the horrible bill.’”

Here’s video of the encounter which was posted on You Tube by the person who filmed it:

“You cut Medicaid, so I couldn’t get Obamacare. You’re an asshole! You don’t care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.”

Ah, the beauty of progressive call-out culture. It gives anyone on the left a license to be rude and intentionally unpleasant and still feel good about themselves afterwards. According to the Palm Beach Post, this is the same Cara Jennings who during the 2012 election heckled Marco Rubio during a speech to Florida delegates:

Four members of the West Palm Beach-based Stand Up Florida sat quietly through a Florida Republican delegation breakfast, which included remarks from Florida Attorney General Pam Bonti, and then most of Rubio’s speech before one man, John Pope of West Palm Beach, stood up and punctuated the Senator’s speech with “Hey Rubio.”

Pope went on to accuse Rubio and Republicans of shilling for corporate interests. Booed by the crowd, Pope was hustled out of the room by security, and Rubio renewed speaking.

Within moments, another heckler rose and quizzed Rubio. Two others followed and were shouted down, with the Republican crowd eventually lapsing into chants of “U-S-A.”

Cara Jennings, a former Lake Worth city commissioner and self-described anarchist, was escorted out shouting, “The Republican agenda doesn’t work for America.”

Jennings also disrupted a Newt Gingrich rally in Florida in 2012:

A small woman with a big mouth managed to disrupt a large Newt Gingrich rally for at least 15 minutes in Coral Springs, Fla., on Wednesday, sending the candidate’s staff into a tizzy and enraging the crowd.

She was profiled by the Palm Beach Post in 2010 as the “radical cheerleader of Lake Worth.”
