When we learned that Chris Cuomo had been giving his brother advice on how to fend off allegations of sexual misconduct, nobody mentioned that he might be drawing on direct personal experience in the subject. But if the latest allegations about Fredo are found to be true, that could be what happened. Cuomo was fired from CNN in December after it was revealed that he’d been coaching Andrew Cuomo, but it turns out that there was more going on behind the scenes than just that. According to a report in the New York Post, CNN had been contacted by an attorney for a younger woman who had been a temporary worker at ABC News who claimed that Cuomo had invited her to an “office lunch” in 2011. The meeting was supposed to be an opportunity for Cuomo to mentor her in ways to land a permanent gig at that network. But she alleges that when she arrived there was no lunch to be seen and Cuomo began “badgering” her for sex. When she refused his advances, she claims that Cuomo “attacked” her.

Chris Cuomo allegedly attacked a female ABC News temp worker when she denied his proposition for sex during a “lunch” in his office, it was revealed on Tuesday.

The accusation was made to CNN lawyers in December hours after Cuomo was suspended for advising his brother then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo how to dodge his own sexual harassment accusations, according to The New York Times. The CNN host was fired days later.

The unnamed accuser had come forward after Cuomo was suspended from the network on Nov. 30 for helping former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo try to beat back the multiple allegations that ultimately ended his political career, the report said.

The story brought forward by the anonymous woman’s attorney is highly disturbing. “Jane Doe” remained quiet about the event for five years, but when the #MeToo movement began to kick into gear, Cuomo reached out to her, offering to do a flattering segment about her new employer. This was allegedly an attempt to see if she could remain quiet about the 2011 incident. The woman said she was also aware of the allegations being made against Andrew Cuomo at that point and was “haunted” by the similarities between the two brothers’ behavior.

We need to keep in mind that this allegation was a full decade in the past when she came forward. But if you’re in the “believe all women” camp, she has to be taken seriously. Also, the attorney claims that multiple former coworkers of Jane Doe testified that they had been told the story of Cuomo attacking her in the past. Since they both worked at ABC at the time, the allegation has to be seen as at least potentially credible.

Is this a case of blood being thicker than water and the fruit never falling far from the tree? Remember that the alleged attack in Cuomo’s office took place in 2011. Cuomo has been married since 2001 and he and his wife had already started their family by then. If he was already hitting up a temp or intern for sex at that point as the letter alleges, things must not have been going that smoothly.

This brings us back to the recently revealed report saying that Cuomo wants “Megyn Kelly” money to go away, not just the $18 million that’s supposedly left on his contract. He’s reportedly looking for something in the range of $60 million. Will this revelation temper his demands? If he’s half as good at denying accusations and refusing to respond as his brother was, probably not. But if any more accusers begin showing up that could rapidly change.
