That’ll show ’em! After caving to a boycott of Georgia over its new election law, Major League Baseball has relocated its All-Star Game event from Atlanta to Denver. Apparently, MLB’s research group still bats below the Mendoza Line:

Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game will be played in Denver, following its removal from Atlanta in protest of Georgia’s new restrictive voting law, multiple sources told ESPN Monday.

The annual “Midsummer Classic” had been set for July 13 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, in addition to other activities connected to the game, including the annual MLB Draft.

Now it’ll reportedly be played at Denver’s Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, for the first time since 1998.

So what’s the problem? Oh, nothing, except …

That’s two days in the wrong direction, as Georgia’s new law mandates at least 17 days of early voting. Not only that, but Colorado also requires government-issued ID for in-person voting, just like Georgia does (via Twitchy):

However, let’s not overlook the blow that MLB has struck for solidarity with the black community. They moved the All-Star Game from a state where 31.2% of the population is black, and moved the $100 million business opportunity to a state where 4.1% of the population is black. This is what’s known as “redistribution of wealth,” at least to progressives and the MLB.

They note the move will deal an economic blow to Atlanta, which is 51% Black, and provide a boost to Colorado’s capital, which is only 9% Black, according to U.S. Census figures. …

According to 2019 U.S. Census data, Atlanta is 51% Black and 40.9% White, while Denver is 9.2% Black and 76% White.

To be honest, I’m surprised that MLB didn’t move the game to Minnesota (where 5.7% of the population is black). We don’t have voter-ID here, and we have fairly liberal early-voting regulations. On top of that, it would have been a really obvious choice after the George Floyd homicide and Minneapolis’ rush to abolish its police department. Did the two trials scare off MLB, or was it the exploding rate of violent crime?

This has been an epic demonstration of corporate stupidity, a knee-jerk reaction to a problem that never existed in the first place. Will MLB now remove the game from Colorado? And will it stop playing any other games in states where the statutes don’t meet their woke standards du jour? Please — by all means, show us your commitment to social justice by demonstrating more of your ignorant ineptitude.
