The obligatory "Microsoft goes full woke and then some" clips

Watching this, I had an almost irresistible urge to put some money on Trump winning again in 2024.

Dave “Iowahawk” Burge went so far as to say that these clips surpassed the legendary “nerds rock out to the Stones” Windows 95 launch for sheer cringe quotient.

What I want to know is, how does a guy with a mohawk introduce himself to viewers by describing himself physically and not mention the mohawk?

Ed messaged me to ask whether mohawk guy isn’t guilty of culturally appropriating his look from Native Americans. Good point. His colleagues should stage a walkout in protest tomorrow.

We’ve all seen lefties state their preferred pronouns before but the physical self-description is a woke convention that’s new to me, although one I should have anticipated. If the point is to make sure that no “marginalized communities” are “erased” then logically some accommodation needs to be made for the blind. Someone who’s visually impaired can’t get the same sense of the production as a sighted person without supplying them with a little more detail, right?

A decade from now, it’ll take progressives 20 minutes to introduce themselves to each other to make sure the person they’re conversing with doesn’t somehow feel excluded. Meanwhile, the rest of us will be left to wonder: Why does someone who’s blind need to know what race of the presenters to appreciate a tech company’s seminar on data security?

Racial identity is very important to these people. I’ve said it before, always only half-jokingly: The spectrum of wokeness runs from woke to extremely woke to ludicrously woke to alt-right.

But here’s the best part. The clip above wasn’t the wokest segment from Microsoft’s presentation. This was:

I just want to learn how to update Microsoft Edge and suddenly I’m in the middle of a history lesson about the Pacific northwest.

Did I say it would take lefties 20 minutes to introduce themselves in the future? Make that 45.

Exit question: When will Microsoft be returning the land it occupies to Native Americans? There’s more to these declarations of cultural sensitivity than empty virtue-signaling, I hope.
