On Tuesday, the sitting president called half the country "garbage." While it’s hard to grasp historical significance as it unfolds, this moment will likely be analyzed and debated for decades. The comment reflects more than just a slip of the tongue—it reveals the deep contempt the Democratic Party holds for ordinary Americans, evident in their rhetoric, policies, and methods.
As a first-term legislator under Tim Walz in Minnesota, I’ve witnessed firsthand how a narrow Democratic majority has forced through the most radical agenda imaginable. This includes some of the most extreme abortion provisions globally, an energy mandate that bans 80% of current production without a viable replacement, and business policies driving companies out of the state. Worse, billions of taxpayer dollars are wasted on initiatives meant to create favorable election soundbites—such as offering free school lunches to wealthy families just to say, "We're feeding kids."
Throughout this process, Republicans—and the millions of voters we represent—have been sidelined and ignored. Even in Democratic districts, dissenting voices have been dismissed. On top of that, the administration has lied about public opposition. For example, Governor Walz falsely claimed business groups supported his burdensome Paid Family Medical Leave plan, forcing them to publicly correct him and reiterate their opposition.
This dismissive behavior isn’t accidental - it stems from the belief that those who disagree with them are "garbage." Democrats seem to view Americans as too foolish to self-govern, too deplorable to deserve respect, and too despicable to consider. Biden's comment echoes what his party has long implied, starting with early campaign insults labeling us "weird." His remark is just the latest expression of their condescending worldview.

Rupar has spent years trying to create viral moments that could sway public opinion, yet here he watches helplessly as Biden’s unfiltered words ignite Republicans and dishearten Democrats in the final stretch of an election.
Rupar’s predicament illustrates a broader truth. His strategy relies on twisting words and omitting context, but lies are easy to debunk when the full story comes to light. Over time, these tactics lose effectiveness, like the tale of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. By contrast, Biden’s "garbage" remark doesn’t need manipulation to expose its meaning—it’s clear in its full context.
We don’t have to lie. We just notice - and point.
That’s a power the Rupars of the world will never possess. They can only twist and distort, while we need only reveal what’s already there. This moment feels like a turning point - where the difference between deception and truth-telling becomes unmistakably clear. It’s no wonder Democrats like Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and others have made repeated attempts to restrict free speech. If left unchecked, speech that exposes the truth poses the greatest threat to their agenda.

Take, for instance, the popular account "Libs of TikTok." All it does is share videos that leftists have willingly posted themselves. It offers full context, showing exactly what people say and believe - no edits, no spin. Yet this straightforward approach has drawn enormous backlash. Powerful efforts have been made to silence, intimidate, and punish the account for simply "noticing and pointing." A global political machine is being unraveled by one person with a smartphone.
This is why the First Amendment matters so profoundly. Free speech protects us from tyranny because it enables us to discern truth from lies. When Biden calls half the country "garbage," he’s not making a gaffe - he’s being honest. He’s showing us what he believes, and his words speak for themselves.
