For Pete's Sake - Can Anything Shame These Democratic Senators?

So. There sits Pete Hegseth.

And how he's managing to hold it together at any given moment I have no idea. I would either be exploding or laughing my asterisk off, but either way - I'd sure as hell be headed for a cocktail or twelve when this day was over.

Yet the man is just as cool and affable as a cucumber.

Damn, I like the cut of his jib. I mean, I always did, but to manhandle these shrieking buffoons so effortlessly?

Oh, well done, dude.

I know his accountability arguments certainly have the folks in the four-star protection society riled up and their cages rattled.

I love that the Republican veterans are doing fantastic work showing off what a gem Trump has picked.

SENATOR TIM SHEEHY: How many genders are there?

HEGSETH: Two.

SHEEHY: I know that well, I'm a "she-he (Sheehy)." What is the diameter of a rifle round fired out of an M4A1?

HEGSETH: 5.56.

SHEEHY: How many pushups can you do?

HEGSETH: I did 5 sets of 47 this morning.

SHEEHY: Most important strategic base is in the Pacific?

HEGSETH: Guam.

SHEEHY: How many rounds of 5.56 can you fit into the magazine of an M4 rifle?

HEGSETH: Standard issue is 30.

SHEEHY: What size round is the M9 Beretta standard issue sidearm for the military?

HEGSETH: 9mm.

SHEEHY: What kind of batteries do you put in your night vision goggle?

HEGSETH: Duracell.

SHEEHY: You represent what warfighters deal with every day on the battlefield. You understand them. What happens is - decisions made in rooms like this cause d*ad 17, 18, 19-year-old Americans. Your priority is warfighters. I support you.

Hegseth has also made some news reiterating President Trump's support for reinstating the troops who were booted because of the vaccine mandate.

This was just a stunning answer - and the correct one - to Joni Ernst about 'women in combat.' It's easy for Hegseth to agree to a review to make sure the standards haven't been lowered to allow women in ACTIVE combat roles to remain there because guess what? The standards have been lowered.

Compromising on age-old combat standards has been the mechanism for all of this integration to happen. Women haven't miraculously gotten stronger and faster.

The metrics determining qualification for a particular combat specialty have had a machete taken to them.

Pete's been taking incoming, ear-piercing screeches from the Democratic Shrieking Sisterhood of Harpies all day. Bad enough the poor man has to watch all the tiny fists of frustrated fury flailing in the air. To have to puzzle out what it is they want an answer to after trying to figure out if they've stopped is too much to ask of any man.

Besides, it's all theater of the absurd and ignorant. None of them are going to vote for him with all that toxic masculinity oozing out of every pore.

He's intimidating the hell out of the crusty old senate snots used to badgering witnesses before lunch as a warmup. Senator Jack Reed is adamant Hegseth isn't qualified to be SecDef. Sen Reed is as expert an expert on qualifications...

...as most Democrats.

They're mostly 'expert' in throwing crap out to see what sticks to the wall, and damn - don't they hate it when you call them on it.

Then to be forced to listen - and answer politely - to this complete scumbag stolen valor POS LIAR while he acts like the lord of the manor and high inquisitor because the people of CT are too stupidly gullible to fire him...man

Hat's off to my man, Pete for maintaining.

As Scott Jennings said shortly thereafter, it all worked to Hegseth's benefit, and he blazed through like a comet.

As a veteran, I have such hope for this nomination, and I have such hope for our military if Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, comes to pass.

He is a stellar individual, and I can not wait to watch him get turned loose.

It's gonna be lit af.
