It won't do any good.

First, a little background to set the stage. Bussin' With the Boys is an irreverent little YouTube production of Barstool Sports (which should be a clue about the level of polite conversational rigor) hosted by two really engaging NFL players. Will Compton is a linebacker for the Washington Commanders, and Taylor Lewan is a left tackle who used to play for the Titans.

They're pretty sharp as a duo and have managed to pull some big names to come and chat with them. Two days ago, former President Donald Trump came by for a couple of hours to talk a little football and life in general.

Ladies and Gents, Bussin' With The Boys has landed another whale! Will Compton and Taylor Lewan sit down with none other than Donald Trump to talk about all things sports. The 45th President talks ball and shares his insights on his favorite QBs currently in the NFL. He also gives some great anecdotes about the importance of "showing up" and how Lou Gehrig's career initially took off.

Trump opens up about the current state of his campaign, the digitization of media, and how he practices resilience in the face of criticism. He even shares some fascinating stories from his attempt to acquire the Buffalo Bills for $1 billion. Will and Taylor dig into these topics and more, picking the former President's brain on Brock Purdy, his favorite sports growing up, and his golf game.

The clips I've seen have been absolutely hilarious, especially one with how Trump comes up with his nicknames. The former president was loose as a goose, comfortable as all get out talking sports, smack, and obviously enjoying (as Kcruella and I have always called it) the 'scummy male bonding.'

You could tell everyone was truly having a great time.

I mean, this is just a scream. [Beege Update: FYI - I've been told this clip is from a different show, the Andrew Schulz podcast (‘Flagrant’)]

I also did not know - maybe some of you guys did - that Trump actually played football. Turns out he had, in high school at the New York Military Academy.

And this segment made news.

In fact, that august bastion of all things socially acceptable - the Washington Post - decided it was so offensive that they were, in good conscience, required to follow up. Just what exactly did the boys think Trump meant by not liking it when a guy who was "lifting weights all day and (most offensively) CAME FROM A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD" creamed him when he had the football?

Most importantly, as the two guys laughed at it, the WaPo nannies wanted to know what they had found "amusing" about Trump's remark.

Holy smokes - can't you hear Maggie Smith in your head reading that in her most missish schoolmarm voice? Or worse.

Get a grip, WaPo.

Well, I'm here to tell you that WaPo got an answer from Compton. But it's sure not the usual polished diss from a DeSantis staffer or a terrified cave from some poor nobody they sicced Taylor Lorenz on.

They got a football player's answer. On X. In front of God and everybody.

One which was...um...a tad less refined than this.

An answer that sent the Daily Mail, no shrinking violets in their own right, into a fit of the vapors.

Former NFL player who interviewed Donald Trump issues disgusting rebuttal to Washington Post question

A recent Donald Trump interview on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast has resulted in a memorable rebuttal to the Washington Post.

'So, Washington Post, here's my comment,' host Will Compton said in a self-shot video before moving the phone to his backside and audibly expelling gas.

Compton and his former Tennessee Titans teammate Taylor Lewan were interviewing Trump about his history with football, which he says he played at New York Military Academy (NYMA).

It turns out the WaPo is following up on the umbrage taken by people who are taking offense at calling bad neighborhoods..."bad."

...Trump, a native of the affluent Jamaica Estates, has been slammed for the comment described by online critics as a 'racist dog whistle.'

During the interview, however, the two hosts laughed at Trump's remarks.

If WaPo can paint two white football players as racist, too, why all the better!

Compton is entirely aware of the less-than-subtle trap WaPo was laying. Hence his audible answer, linked here in all its masculine glory.

I do think it's odd that WaPo never followed up with Biden, his hairy legs, the chain, or "BAD dude" CornPop. I suppose that's (D)ifferent. Besides, these humorless scolds wouldn't know a joke if it smacked them in the face anyway.

They are what they are.

Trump's interview is hilarious and ever so personable, and it contrasts beautifully with Kamala's stilted conversation with the two NBA players, through no fault of theirs. They tried to help her and obviously had far more on the ball than she could ever hope to.

She can't hack it.

You can dump Donald Trump anywhere, and he'll have a conversation struck up with the fellow or woman next to him in two seconds flat. And everyone will have a good time.

They might even laugh at his jokes.

Just don't tell the WaPo.

At least, if they came knocking, you know what to do now.
