Well, the suspense is killing me.
The back and forth about Biden staying or going is worse than reading the dueling checkout line rag reports about whether Ben Affleck and J-Lo have broken up or made nice again (latest word, he secretly moved all the furniture out when she was away working).
The changes in story trajectory over only the course of a few hours is dizzying, as if dueling camps were playing a game of Point - Counterpoint.
Twenty-four hours ago, the big news was that even scummy chief Democratic Wormtongue Adam Schiff had finally called for POTATUS to turn in the White House keys.
Adam Schiff has now publicly called for Joe Biden to resign

As Ed asked in his post, why? What was the sudden impetus for the volte-face?
...File this under Things You Could Have Said Last November. It's not as if Biden's cognitive decline suddenly occurred on June 27, 2024. As early as April 2022, the White House had the Easter Bunny order Biden away from reporters and attendees at the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Nominating an unelectable candidate isn't a good reason to throw out the democratic results of the party's own primaries, which they rigged to protect Biden from precisely the kind of test of electability that Democrats claim they need now.
The only good reason for this demand would be a lack of competence for the job. And if he's not up to the job, why isn't Schiff demanding that Biden resign immediately?
Schiff had also received some truly unsettling news that morning about his own campaign for senate against Dodger great Steve Garvey. While Schiff is still holding on to a strong polling advantage, Garvey's fundraising has suddenly taken off. Is that a harbinger of a tightening race thanks to the current WH occupant's troubles - a so-called drag on the down ticket starting to emerge?
It's not surprising that less than 24 hours after it was reported that our campaign out-raised Adam Schiff's campaign by $1.2 million that he sounded the alarm that he and other down-ticket candidates were in trouble and did everything he could to bury our story.

No time like the present for Schiff to respectfully call for dumping the vegetable overboard...with all due respect.
There's always an ulterior motive with these guys.
POTATUS has been his own worst enemy before being driven into his basement by BI-BI-BI-BIDEN-RONA.

Panicked Democrats are watching their world collapse as an ascendant Republican Party finally seems on the precipice of learning not to step on itself. It's wig-out time, and Democrats only see one cure for what ails them.

NO MO JOE
So, this morning, an Axios piece appeared...
If Joe Biden is unfit to run for reelection, he is unfit to continue as President. https://t.co/EJPPzultn6
— Mike Lee (@SenMikeLee) July 18, 2024
...as did a New York Post story on the same theme.
Both pieces laid heavy emphasis on the insinuation that it was now a foregone conclusion Biden and Co. were at last paying heed to the extraordinary and frantic urgings of their party and donors to exit, stage right, from the campaign as quickly and quietly as possible.
Biden was now, in the Post's words, "receptive."
President Biden is being “receptive” behind closed doors about the possibility of giving up his 2024 re-election campaign, according to a senior Democratic adviser.
The 81-year-old president, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, has so far been adamant that he will remain in the race for the White House — despite repeated calls from Democrats for him to step aside in the wake of his train-wreck debate three weeks ago.
When I saw that phrasing, I could only think one thing: What are donors ponying up - specifically IRT Jill...

How much is that puppet in the Oval Office window going to set them back?
Then again, much like the classic love story that is Ben and J-Lo, this could all be an exercise in frustration.
Only a couple of hours after those stories broke, PFFT.
Word came back the Bidens were staying put.

I guess the numbers on the check weren't big enough yet.
The puppet is still for sale in the window.
Pressure's on...

WE CAN STILL LOSE THIS THING

They can still steal this thing.
BEEGE UPDATE: And a gloved backhand comes swinging out of the Biden camp in their latest answer.
Lemme translate what they said:
The geniuses NOW calling for POTATUS to step aside are the same ones who got us Hillary and DONALD TRUMP TO BEGIN WITH.
