Menthol cigarette ban delayed due to "immense" feedback, Biden administration says

The Biden administration said Friday it would again delay a decision on a regulation aiming to ban menthol-flavored cigarettes, citing the "historic attention" and "immense amount of feedback" on the controversial proposal by the Food and Drug Administration. Man, did they step in it.

"This rule has garnered historic attention and the public comment period has yielded an immense amount of feedback, including from various elements of the civil rights and criminal justice movement," Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said in a statement.

The White House had already overshot a previous self-imposed date to decide on the regulation by March. The rule had been stalled in an interagency review process.

A senior administration official said it was hard to put a timeline on the delay, citing lingering disagreements after "months of hard conversations."

"Historic attention" from even civil rights and criminal justice?

What's the big deal about menthols as opposed to any other nasty tobacco product or cigarette?

...White House officials are reportedly at odds over the political implications. But public health officials and the FDA say a ban would save hundreds of thousands of lives. Menthol cigarettes are a leading cause of death among Black Americans; 81 percent of Black smokers use menthols, compared to 34 percent of white smokers.

The FDA has that menthol number as high as 85% of black smokers and almost 17% of the black population smokes.

This brilliant Biden administration move is plain-as-day targeted at the black population to save them from themselves.

That's a helluva message to send to one of the Democrats' most loyal voting blocks, isn't it? Do they honestly believe blacks are going to buy it and reward them with "Praise POTATUS" support?

Let's start here with a simple Google search for "Biden blacks" and see what the Magic 8 Ball brings up. You know this has to be killing those manipulative search engine communists.

Just the first four stories are a laundry list of disaster. "Turning away," "political pawns," and *GASP* black men "poised to take TRUMP to the White House."

Blacks are turning away from pathetic POTATUS and his lunatic, dystopian party in droves. Droves, I tell you.

That's where news stories stand. Impromptu street interviews have given networks the vapors because they've been so negative towards Biden - even worse, so Trump positive - and if you look at the consistent polling trends, the news is even more frightening for their hold on the White House.

The Biden administration simply reaffirms the Democratic policy position that blacks are children who can't take care of themselves and need constant guidance from, well, Democrats. 

In this instance, because it's one of their favorite things and blacks have made such a fuss in an election year, the regime will gracefully dispense a mulligan for the cultural proclivities of a favored voting block.

Contrary to what the Democratic machine believes and operates on, black voters are going to be able to figure out that this decision is based on  Electoral Science™ and nothing more. They've also seen almost four years of Biden's double-dealing, highhanded decrees to know it's a temporary reprieve.

I'll be darned if something this pandering and this insulting isn't gonna shove a few more off of the Democratic parade float.

Now, they might not wind up voting for the Orange Man. 

But they won't be in a booth voting for the geriatric dementia patient whom they were never really crazy about anyway, and that will sink the down-ballot hopefuls, too.
