Nothing but sterling over-achievers populate the cabinet desks of the Biden administration. Intellectuals to a one, they are also closet progressive fascists to the core, constantly dispensing nuggets of their government control philosophy that only gets beaten back if someone hears and objects.

It’s never going away. The benevolent tyranny of the state ideology is too much a part of who they are, be it heat pumps to hot tubs to cars to children. There are no inherent rights in the progressive world – there is only privilege to be awarded…and withdrawn.

“Parenting” is merely the physical act of bringing a child into the world. Nothing else but food and nourishment is required. The state will then take custody and form that malleable lump of carbon into yet another worker for the collective. For “the village” to raise, as one thankfully-not-president progressive harpy once memorably chirped.

Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona let his contempt for the concept of “parents” and the right to raise their children slip into a conversation when an AP reporter asked…

“You said public schools and public education are “under attack.” I wonder if this is something other education secretaries have had to grapple with?”

WOOF What a smug answer he gave.

Parents who can only “act like they know what’s right” as, in Sec Cardona’s view, they are far too ignorant to be trusted.

Contesting the assertion of authority of school boards and the “educator” class to teach your child as they see fit is “misbehaving” – every parent who’s ever stood up at a schoolboard meeting should feel awful, being gently chastised like this.

Particularly when Secretary Cardona is the consummate poster boy for the failed state of the very education parents are railing righteously against.

Cardona’s a sophisticated dude, in the classical sense.

Cardona’s into spending diversity and equity money in a big way, which also helps students… or does it? Does it help teachers be BETTER TEACHERS?

Today, the U.S. Department of Education (Department) announced the availability of more than $368 million in new grant opportunities through the Education Innovation and Research (EIR) program and the Teacher and School Leader (TSL) Incentive program that advance investments in teacher recruitment and retention. These investments particularly prioritize promoting educator diversity and career advancement and leadership opportunities for effective educators tied to increased compensation.

“Teachers shape thriving individuals and communities, as well as the future of our nation. Now more than ever, we need more innovative approaches to supporting the return and retention of outstanding, well-prepared, well-supported educators who meet the needs and reflect the diversity of their students,” said Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education James Lane. “These funds will catalyze more of these approaches in schools across the country.”

For a fellow who can dismissively lord it over parents without a second thought, the EDUCATION secretary’s judgement is also open to question regarding who he hires. I just saw this whoop-dee-do announcement. Now, this woman – Superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools -will probably be making a pretty penny on the taxpayer dime with what appears to be a very important educational berth. Another “expert” parents should be genuflecting to, instead of arguing with, right?

The problem is, she’s not the “former” superintendent because she’s taking the job Cardona’s offering, but because Atlanta is BOOTING HER UNDERPERFORMING BUTT OUT a year early.

Atlanta school board members announced Friday that they’re getting rid of district Superintendent Lisa Herring when her contract ends next year.

Atlanta Public Schools Board Chair Eshé Collins, in a statement, didn’t explain why the board decided to not renew Herring’s contract after it ends June 30, 2024.

…A group calling itself Transparency Now had launched an online petition urging Herring’s ouster and calling on people to pressure school board members to not renew Herring’s contract. The group cited low test scores, insufficient attention to students with disabilities and discipline problems among the reasons.

So she’s not waiting for the door to hit her – she’s booking over to that sweet DoEd job right now.

Must be a friend of Miguel’s or something.
