Rats: Scotland's "Nationalist Party" has wee country pretty much where you'd expect

(4,413 feet)

The Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) first came to power in 2007 on a nascent independence wave. They managed to effect a 2014 independence vote, and, even though they lost that referendum at the ballot box, they consolidated the base, and have clung to power ever since.

Heady times that could well be coming to a screeching halt, not to imply that Scots are beginning a conservative lean.

…A recent Survation poll suggested the SNP could lose almost half the 48 seats it won at the 2019 Westminster election, with Labour picking up 24 — a dramatic improvement on opposition leader Keir Starmer’s current total of one, and a major boost to his hopes of entering Downing Street at next year’s general election.

And with the SNP mired in scandal and internal conflict following the departure of its long-time leader Nicola Sturgeon earlier this year, some sense the party’s era of dominance in Scotland could be drawing to a close.

They’re just thinking about jettisoning the utterly incompetent and crooked socialists in office at the moment, and trading them for the more familiar and slightly less incompetent Labour version.

How the country of my ancestors which birthed legendary brave hearts like William Wallace and Isabella MacDuff ever turned into the welfare state-loving, weak-kneed puddle of goo they are now, I have no idea. But they seem contented to mire themselves in problems and then lurch from one ruinous, self defeating government to the next.

I feel ya, buddy.

I wrote about former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s woke effect on her country several times over the course of this past winter. From declaring that the era of the personal vehicle was, for all intents and purposes, dead as far as the SNP was concerned…

…to wrapping the country in wind farms that are bankrupting it’s people even as they’ve needed diesel generators to keep the turbines operational, tiny tyrant Sturgeon’s reign of terror was only interrupted by her own ambition running roughshod over the few traditional beliefs still tightly held by her fellow Scots. And the stench of corruption.

I know. You’re shocked.

…“SUITABLY WOKE” has been her downfall with the everyday Scots who have supported her and the SNP, and made them rulers of a virtual one-party state. Sturgeon seriously misjudged the latitude she had for change when she received the reins of power and a fatal dose of the Davos influence-za.

Her insistence on legislating and advocating for trans-gender “rights” ran afoul of decent people everywhere on a number of occasions. One was when fellow SNP MPs were photographed all chirpy in a trans rights protest crowd, with a DECAPITATE ALL TERFS placard raised directly behind them.

It wasn’t long after Sturgeon’s hurried resignation that her home was tossed by police detectives, then her husband was arrested, as was the lady herself shortly afterwards.

The SNP had a replacement First Minister candidate in the wings, though. A winning young man by the name of Humza Yousaf, who promptly took to the legislative floor to rattle off what he found to be the biggest issue facing Scotland – its eyewatering, blinding, racist WHITENESS.

Do listen. It’s illuminating.

He’s a peach, no? He is also a master at barking about the obvious.

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the pretty rock-steady-for-thousands-of-years racial demographics of the heathered regions north of Hadrian’s Wall, but. With only about 5M people and those are 96%+ WHITE, Scotland has a hard time being anything but pasty pale-faces (And this is with LOSING 2 percentage points from the last survey!).

Screencap Statista

Needless to say, Mr. I-Hate-White-Folks got the gig, and is now in charge of the both the SNP and the country he despises 96% of.

Well, heh – how’s the party going?

WOOF

Only dead people donate to the Scottish National Party
How the embattled SNP went from big-donor magnet to a party reliant on gifts from the deceased.

…Most troublingly for SNP chiefs, the party is now struggling to raise money from any significant new donors at all, beyond those who are already deceased.

…Instead, it’s been increasingly dependent on bequests left by dead supporters in their wills.

It’s not quite the image the nationalist party — which self-identifies as a vibrant movement of the masses, with youth on its side — wants to portray.

I mean, that’s actually hilarious – SNP has become the PBS of political parties, shilling for wills.

Meanwhile, as FM Yousaf battles race wars and sees dead people, it pretty much sounds as if Scotland continues to fall apart, in a decline only hardcore woke socialists can manage. Ask any blue city denizen here if this doesn’t sound familiar, although ringing a good bit classier when said by a Brit.

Penny Mordaunt has ripped the SNP apart for their record in Government.

The Commons Leader slammed the party for “grotesque chaos and appalling public services”

…”I did learn Scotland has slower economic growth than England, I was shocked to learn Victorian diseases have actually returned to certain cities in Scotland, such as rickets, that Glasgow’s rat problem is now so bad it is precluding bin men actually accessing certain streets as it is too dangerous for them, I discovered that the bill to Scottish taxpayers for the smelting business debacle stands at £32million, I discovered that £33m that was ring-fenced for Scottish farmers has gone AWOL.

Wait, WHUT?! So many of Willard’s friends are rampaging around Glasgow because trash isn’t picked up regularly, that even the garbagemen are afraid to go in some neighborhoods?

Besides SNP’s obvious incompetence at basic administration, they are still barging ahead with plans to make gender swapping easier and still agitating for independence. Citizens are at the point where they’d prefer to focus on what’s impotant to them, and get that fixed. Labour is licking their chops at the opening they see.

…Amid the infighting, as well as neverending spats between the SNP government at Holyrood and Conservative administration at Westminster, Labour’s aim is to convince Scots it can deliver a more joined-up operation to get funding and assistance to the right places.

Crichton, a former Westminster journalist who grew up on the islands, said the hope is for a Labour win in 2024 to show Scots what could be possible if the party takes power in Holyrood in Scottish elections in 2026 too.

He said when he launched his campaign, frustrations about the SNP government — including over a botched replacement of much-needed ferries and environmental plans to restrict fishers — were bubbling under the surface.

Meanwhile, bemused and abused Scots – much like residents of Chicago or New York City – ask themselves how this happens…

…and then, never the wiser, will vote for more of the same.

Rats.
