In other words, they’re not following through with the stated reason for their current status. Like men who “identify” as “women” but aren’t sufficiently committed to the transition to remove their “male” appendages (while they keep wearing dresses and ladies bath suits), it’s hard to take illegals requesting “asylum” seriously when they’ve crossed to border to do so…and then they don’t.
It’s almost as if “asylum” was just an excuse to…cross the border.
Prior to the expiration of Title 42 (the COVID era repatriation measure), illegals were already being coached to ask for asylum the second they met a Border Patrol officer or any U.S. law enforcement. That would preclude them being immediately deported, not that that was much of a threat in light of the criminally lax Biden border enforcement.
With the lapse of Title 42 rapidly approaching, the administration finally roused itself in the face of horrifying numbers of “migrants” heading towards the southern border in a last ditch rush. Biden and Co. have made a half hearted attempt to tighten up the asylum restrictions, at least in name only. Now, you have to have an asylum hearing booked online when you’re apprehended at the border, or, in theory, back you go.
President Joe Biden’s administration this week will begin denying asylum to migrants who show up at the U.S.-Mexico border without first applying online or seeking protection in a country they passed through.
…While stopping short of a total ban, the measure imposes severe limitations on asylum for those crossing illegally who didn’t first seek a legal pathway. The rule was first announced in February and is being finalized Wednesday, the officials said. It’s almost certain to face legal challenges. In 2019, then-President Donald Trump pursued similar but stricter measures, but a federal appeals court prevented them from taking effect.
You can see how the “I’m seeking asylum” scam exploded over the past 6 years by the chart (In 2019 Trump tried to enforce even stricter measures but they were blocked by a federal appeals court.). Just in the first half of 2023, the backlog is upwards of 848,793 cases. That’s illegals who have actually done the paperwork after claiming asylum at the border.
New York City is a prime example of the actual facts on the ground.
Thousands of migrants have arrived in New York since last spring, seeking refuge from violence and harm or wanting job opportunities — and often both at once. What they’ve found is a state in crisis mode.
Officials estimate around 72,000 people have come through New York City in the last year alone, many of whom have been deemed asylum-seekers. The city, in turn, has bused smaller numbers of the newly arrived to locations upstate, including Newburgh, Colonie and Albany. Asylum is a term that refers to a Byzantine legal immigration process through which individuals can apply for protection through the U.S. government, safeguarding against possible deportation and opening a path to permanent citizenship.
It’s so tough, we need to understand. “Byzantine.” And, gosh – maybe some of these people didn’t really mean it comprendo when they asked for “asylum” at the border.
…Whatever the reason for choosing New York as their destination, people who do so are then given some documentation to begin the complex asylum-seeking process, said Camille Mackler, the executive director of the Immigrant Advocates Response Collaborative.
…Advocates contend that most, if not all, people moving through the New York immigration system are seeking asylum and have a valid reason to do so.
That can be difficult to prove, however. And New York City officials have indicated that so far, only a small percentage of individuals have begun the asylum application. City officials said during a briefing last week that “very few” of the 70,000 migrants who have arrived since last spring have formally applied for asylum.
Well, knock me over with a feather.
You know what the next “advocate” excuse is for them not applying?
Climate change – which is technically not going to get you approved if you apply, but IT’S NOT THEIR FAULT YOU’RE KILLING THE EARTH.
Most of this article consists of providing excuses for why the migrants don't end up filing official asylum claims, in order to avoid arriving at the obvious conclusion that "asylum" is only claimed as the reason for illegally crossing the border, in order to be allowed in.… pic.twitter.com/tiDvv91LgC

They were smart enough to play the system, and they got the brass ring – they’re in the States.
You know who else is playing? People like Mayor Adams, out looking for federal money.
His next plan is opening up a vacant hangar at JFK. Just waiting on the schweet fed “okay.”
Five hundred cots and several trailers with showers and bathrooms are in place at a sprawling warehouse at John F. Kennedy International Airport compound, THE CITY has learned, awaiting the green light from federal authorities to move migrants there.
City officials are expecting to place as many as 1,000 adult asylum-seekers in the cavernous JFK warehouse, beginning as soon as they receive approval from the Federal Aviation Administration, according to a source familiar with the operations.
Building 197, as it’s called, was used as an overflow facility for the United States Postal Service. It’s located along a desolate industrial stretch of highway, across from the barbed wire fence that girds the JFK airport tarmac. The nearest train station is the Locust Avenue Long Island Railroad stop — a 20-minute bus ride away.
What could go wrong?
In the meantime, illegals – excuse me – asylum seekers are living large and rent-free at places like the Roosevelt Hotel, they’ve hooked up 50 “houses of worship” to handle up to 19 men a piece, and Adams is still busing illegals all around the state, too, with Governor Hochul’s help.
It’s the same story in Chicago and everywhere these illegals are making their way or being taken to. To hell with the locals who need asylum in their own cities, who are now being pushed even further back on the burners.
There is a minor hitch to POTATUS bragging on his “tough new border rules,” though, and you know it would never go our way.
Suddenly, every illegal is a family man.
“Mission Accomplished” is how President Biden, his top deputies and media lackeys are characterizing the “tough” new border management plan that on May 12 replaced the pandemic-control Title-42 rapid expulsion measure.
Administration officials boasted — and legacy media trilled — that, thanks to tough-as-nails sanctions they’d apply to all illegal crossers, a massive, expected border surge never materialized and crossings plunged.
…Parents in Mexico have discovered that administration threats of “expedited removals” for illegal crossings, five-year bans on legal reentry and prosecution do not apply to them.
Nothing does.
The runway into America is clear and open, just like always, to any parent with a kid.
Immigrant families with children have now figured out that, if they cross illegally and turn themselves in under the supposedly harsh new strategy, Biden’s Border Patrol will very quickly admit all of them right into the American heartland just like when the government exempted them from Title 42.
Biden did this.
…That this category of immigrants has seen the light is significant because families make up a very large percentage of the mass migration crisis Biden touched off when he first exempted them from Title 42 expulsions on inauguration day in 2021.
That’s more than half of the roughly 2,020,522 Southwest Border immigrants the administration has set free through April, though the real total is likely tens of thousands more, Center for Immigration Studies analyst Andrew R. Arthur recently estimated.
The numbers are STAGGERING and utterly unconscionable.
…“We got in because of the kids,” explained one of four single mothers from Honduras just released with their 10 young children into Del Rio where they waited in the shade of some McDonald’s parking lot trees for a bus out of town.
“We’re looking forward to getting to our destinations, finding work, getting our kids into school and adjusting to life here in the US,” said the mother, cradling a napping 1-year-old boy.
“We’re very happy.”
No wonder hardly of these poor unfortunates we were obligated to allow to flood into our once sovereign nation has time to finish up that “asylum” paperwork.
They’re already busy planning and settling into their happy, new American lives.
We’re living in an asylum alright – for lunatics.
Everybody gets a prize but the people paying the freight.
