A video from February has surfaced of the Dalai Lama and a young Indian boy at an event.

If he will do this in public, I can’t imagine what he would do in private. This poor child. I am appalled and disgusted.

The Dalai Lama has apologized after a video emerged showing the spiritual leader kissing a child on the lips and then asking him to “suck my tongue” at an event in northern India.

In a statement Monday, the office for the Dalai Lama said he “wishes to apologize to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused,” adding he “regrets” the incident.

“His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras,” the statement said.

His apology comes after a video of the exchange, which took place during an event in the hillside city of Dharamshala in February, went viral on social media with many users criticizing the Dalai Lama’s actions.

…and I’m going to say right out I’m completely on board with the outrage crowd. There’s no possible “teasing” or “playful” explanation for something this disgusting.

…In response to the incident, prominent Delhi-based child rights group, Haq: Center for Child Rights, told CNN in a statement it condemns “all form of child abuse.”

It added: “Some news refers to Tibetan culture about showing tongue, but this video is certainly not about any cultural expression and even if it is, such cultural expressions are not acceptable.”

Revolting. The description in the article is gag-inducing enough – there’s no need to post the video and I’m glad others feel like I do.

I saw the Dalai Lama video.

It got my blood boiling…especially after having written about the Maryland AG's report about the Catholic Church abusing kids in Baltimore.

I won't share the video…especially because nobody seems to be blurring the face of the kid.

It’s disgusting enough that we have a Chief Executive whose actions around small children have given people the heebie-jeebies for literally years and whose administration is actively supporting the wholesale sexualization of children. While we are all aware of the decades-long, ongoing cleansing of abusers and enablers in the Catholic clergy, the important fact is Catholics want it done and these monsters gone. It wasn’t parishioners who protected them – it was the hierarchy.

Just like now. It’s not citizens protecting the deviants and the radicals – it’s the administration and the elites in education, law enforcement and government agencies trying to shove this down parents’ throats and attempting to isolate their children from their families.

True to form, in the comments on the CNN tweet at the top, right this second, the apologists are using the “cultural differences” canard and the utterly laughably BUT HE’S A NOBEL PRIZE LAUREATE.

And every news report is using darn near the same article – there’s not one iota of fresh reporting on it, from CNN to NY Post to NY Times. They shuffle the verbiage a little. No one wants to touch this with a ten-foot pole – especially about this “icon.”

The Babylon Bee went for the gold, though and you know what their batting average for headlines coming true is.
