U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Kabul* wins poster girl contest for everything wrong in Biden-world

Dear God. This has to absolutely be one of the most horrific, shameless, brain-dead, appalling things I’ve ever seen an administration official do in my pretty long life, and that is saying a LOT.

This Karen Decker, this CREATURE, who is the chargé d’ affairs at our Afghanistan* mission [*operating out of Doha, Qatar ~ Beege] – for AFGHANISTAN, mind you…

…just burped up the most offensive tweet of the year so far.

It is absolutely stunning.

She is getting royally dragged for it and I swear, while satisfying, it’s not enough.

Really? Dear GOD, what a juvenile goose. As an American diplomat in an extremely precarious section of the world, it’s disgraceful in its sophomoric flippancy.

It’s as if ChatGPT or someone else writes your memos, girlfriend, since you obviously don’t read them.

This woman’s behavior is mortifying.

She’s also, apparently, been in Afghanistan way too long.

A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Karen B. Decker specializes in conflict resolution and crisis management. Currently the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Mission to Afghanistan, Karen previously served as the Director for Afghanistan Operations for the Afghan Relocation Effort (CARE) from September 2021-August 2022, and as Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul from September 2018 to September 2020. Earlier assignments in Afghanistan include two years as Senior Civilian Representative in eastern Afghanistan (2012-2014), and tours in Kandahar and Ghazni in 2006 and 2007.

I mean, for a specialist in conflict resolution, she was smack in the middle of a helluva unresolved disaster in Kabul…and is still there, attempting quite an imitation of doing a bang-up job.

With “specialists” like her, everything’s explained. It’s no wonder we screwed those people over and, most importantly, abandoned thousands of American citizens while sacrificing American lives.

YANK. HER. OUT.

I don’t get it. Was there no one they could get to replace any of them? The only option was swapping diplomatic corps remnants of the ruinous Afghan withdrawal in and out of the place?

This is her, too, not months ago – ten days ago.

Karen Decker: Kandahari Taliban are denying Afghanistan food and future
The US Chargé d’Affaires for Afghanistan, Karen Decker, has accused the Kandahari Taliban of “denying the whole country food and future” with their decision to ban education and work for Afghan women and girls. “We have no choice but to respond”, she warned.

By cutting women out of humanitarian service and shutting girls out of schools, men in Kandahar are denying the whole country food and a future,” she tweeted on Saturday.

Yet she can blithely be so shallow and desperate for a celebrity shout-out that she tweets a completely inappropriate, insensitive, and, quite frankly, cruel little burble to the world at large, using captive Afghan women as her excuse.

Captive chattel they are.

…A very different kind of life now lies ahead for the 20-year-old, a life of domestic drudgery, boredom and seclusion that she has no power to change.

Since the Taliban took control in August 2021, Zeina had managed to convince her frightened family to let her stay at school. She held on to the belief that she would somehow find a way to finish her education and achieve her dream of getting a master’s in medicine. This dream has now ended.

“When the schools were closed [by the Taliban], my father told me that he can’t bear the poverty any more,” she says. “He had to marry me off to someone. If the schools were not closed, this would not have happened. I wanted to finish my studies and be able to make something of my life for myself and my family, but all of these dreams have come to nothing.”

…Life as refugees has been difficult for Zeina’s family. Already, Zeina had faced pressure from her father to marry because of the debt and poverty they were facing. Now, just weeks after the closure of all secondary schools and universities for girls, Zeina’s marriage has already been arranged.

…Her father has spent most of her 200,000 afghani (£1,840) dowry, using 150,000 to pay off his debts.

Now, as she prepares for her wedding day, Zeina is struggling with depression and anxiety. But there is no way out for her.

“I’m stuck in a vortex of fate,” she says. “There is no escape.”

Hey, gloomy, hopeless Afghan girl forced into marriage! The senior American diplomat in Kabul, who is watching as this happens to all of you, says HASHTAG! #BlackGirlMagic

Isn’t that cool?

How shallow, clueless, self-absorbed, and unserious is this administration…I guess that’s rhetorical.

We see it every day.

* I corrected the language in the post and tagged the headline, but let me just reiterate, Ms Decker is the senior U.S. diplomat for Afghanistan, but working out of Doha, Qatar.
