If reports of the Texas National Guard using pepper balls against illegal border crossers are true, do you think that is too much? 

The Texas National Guard has been working as a part of Operation Lone Star since Governor Abbott launched the program in 2021. Abbott did so because President Biden came into office and threw open the southern border. Instead of continuing the policies and agreements that former President Trump used to successfully control the border with Mexico, Biden tossed those out and signed executive orders that went in the opposite direction. It's been a complete disaster ever since.

Biden's up for re-election now and those who plan to come to the United States illegally, which means other than through a legal port of entry at the border, are accelerating their plans. They want to get across the border because they know the Biden administration will allow them to remain in the United States. Border personnel are too overwhelmed to properly vet illegal immigrants and there are not enough shelters to hold them. The Biden administration uses catch and release at the border. Illegal aliens turn themselves into Border Patrol and other law enforcement and after they are processed, they are released.

Migrants at the border say they are being shot at with pepper balls by the Texas National Guard. The pepper ball guns are considered to be non-lethal. They shoot out a chemical that irritates people's noses, eyes, and throats. Texas officials say that the pepper balls aren't supposed to be shot directly at people, there have been complaints from migrants that they have been hit by pepper balls, which cause welts and bruises.

One human rights activist laid it on thick in an interview.

“When they get to the border, and they’re met with this harsh enforcement, with this harsh treatment where they’re being shot with pepper balls, it doesn’t only stain the values that our country has, our values (that) have been built by immigrants, but it’s also stepping on the human and constitutional rights of these people,” Alan Lizarraga, communications director for the Border Network for Human Rights, said in an interview with NewsNation.

Please. A game of paintball hurts, too, but c'mon. The policy is to avoid hitting them deliberately. If they are moving around, I can see how people would get hit with a pepper ball. 

Governor Abbott said every tool and strategy is being used against Biden's border crisis under Operation Lone Star. 

“Under our historic border mission, Texas has allocated more than $11 billion of Texas taxpayer money to secure the border, deploying thousands of Texas National Guard soldiers and (Department of Public Safety) troopers, setting up a military base on the border, installing strategic barriers and building our own border wall,” the statement said.

Large groups of illegal aliens are storming the border, cutting razor wire, and coming through gaps in the border wall. Riots started recently as some illegals got physical against the Border Patrol and the Texas National Guard troops to storm their way in. This can't be allowed to happen. 

Operation Lone Star is reaping benefits. Though the Biden administration sues Texas at every opportunity to stop Governor Abbott's efforts to secure the state's border, progress is being made. The number of illegals coming into Texas is dropping. Some of that is due to Operation Lone Star and some of that is the natural cycle of illegal immigration. Each year when the summer months arrive and temperatures rise, illegal immigration ebbs. Biden will try to take credit for the decrease in Texas but that is only part of the story. 

Illegal immigration is increasing in Arizona and California. Human smugglers move west along the southern border as Texas closes up. Don't believe Biden and DHS Secretary Mayorkas when they lie to make themselves look good in an election year. The border is not being secured due to anything Joe Biden has signed as an executive action. The problem is shifting right now further west. The only way to truly secure the border and protect the homeland is to vote for a new president and an administration that takes its responsibilities seriously. President Trump secured the border during his term, he can do it again.
