Look for illegal immigration to be a point of discussion during the presidential debate on CNN Thursday night. Ignoring the topic that is at the top of the list of voter concerns would be an epic fail for CNN.
Granted, CNN and all the other not-Fox networks usually ignore the Biden border crisis. It does not help the Democrats in the eyes of voters so they don't cover the southern border regularly. FNC, however, covers it daily. Convenient or not, it is a big issue.
The Biden border crisis is a humanitarian crisis, to be sure. It is also a national security crisis, though, and recently the intelligence community has been sending warnings to Congress and the White House that the lights are blinking red. Red flags are popping up that cannot be ignored. Will it take a horrific attack on the homeland, like the ones on 9/11/01, before the Biden administration wakes up to the dangers of the open southern border?
Biden will try to say that his latest executive action has slowed the flood of illegal border crossers substantially. He will say that it is Republicans who have created the crisis and former President Trump who encouraged Senate Republicans to vote against the feckless border security bill weaved into the bloated foreign aid bill. A serious border security bill would have been a standalone bill.
What Biden won't say is that on day one of his administration, he did away with Trump's border security policies and agreements to prove he is the not-Trump president. That was a huge mistake, as we have seen ever since. All Trump has to do is point out the fact that his policies worked and Biden's have been a disaster. He should bring up the senseless deaths caused by an open border, most recently the murder and rape (allegedly) of a twelve-year-old girl in Houston. Her hands and feet were bound. Her body was tossed into a creek to cover her abuse. Allegedly she was sexually assaulted for two hours. That child's last hours on earth are unimaginably horrific. One of the two animals wore an ankle monitor. Then Trump should step back and watch Joe Biden come unglued. Biden should be challenged to name even one of the recent murder victims.
Meanwhile, there is a serious threat coming from terrorists who are being allowed to stay in our country. Sure, the number of illegal aliens is easing up in some places. The numbers are doing better in Texas, largely due to Governor Abbott's Operation Lone Star and the help coming from other red states but the illegal immigrants are moving west to Arizona and California. Human traffickers remain flexible and move to where they can move people across the border.
Biden's latest executive action is a parole program. It does nothing to prevent murder and sexual assaults on innocent children and women by illegal aliens already in the country. Biden also granted amnesty to 550,000 illegal aliens as he dismissed their undecided asylum claims. We see you, Joe.
What about the terrorists who are crossing the southern border?
Former CIA deputy director Mike Morell was a guest on Sunday's Face the Nation. He told lefty host Margaret Brennan that there is no sense of urgency coming from the Biden administration and Congress to prevent the growing threat of terrorism in the United States.
“There needs to be a sense of urgency about this, and I think the American public needs to understand what the threat is. That’s why we called for a public congressional hearing just on the terrorist threats to the homeland,” Morell told host Margaret Brennan on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “We need to hear what the administration is doing about this in a broad sense.”
Morell said the American public needs to understand what is coming.
As a CIA analyst, Morell delivered the President’s Daily Brief to then-President George W. Bush — including on the morning of 9/11. Offering warnings similar to the ones from then-CIA director George Tenet and Counterterrorism Czar Richard Clarke about Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda in the period before 9/11, Morell wrote in Foreign Affairs that current FBI director Christopher Wray and other senior officials have now been sounding the alarm.
Morell said Sunday that after publishing the article, the response was “almost universal” from current and former intelligence officers and policymakers, which he said signaled to him that there isn’t enough urgency from the Biden administration in addressing these threats.
He agreed that there is an issue of resources, especially as the focus has shifted from counterterrorism to China. While Morell said this was “understandable to some degree,” he acknowledged “there’s a cost to the intelligence we’re collecting.
A proper vetting process at the border is non-existent. Earlier this month, eight terrorists from Tajikistan were arrested in a sting operation that took place in three cities - NYC, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. All crossed into the country illegally at the southern border and were released into the country. Biden's catch-and-release policy is putting our lives in danger.
The most recent story to send a chill up your back is one that says more than 400 illegal aliens have been identified by DHS as being smuggled into the United States by an ISIS-affiliated organization. More than 150 have been arrested since the human smuggling network got them across the border. Over 50 of them are being treated as gotaways - no one knows who they are or where they are. They were all let loose because there was no intelligence information available to them.
They come from Central Asia and are considered “subjects of concern.”
“In this case, it was the information that suggested a potential tie to ISIS because of some of the individuals involved in [smuggling migrants to the border] that led us to want to take extra care,” said a senior Biden administration official, “and out of an abundance of caution make sure that we exercised our authority in the most expansive and appropriate way to mitigate risk because of this potential connection being made.”
The official added that since ICE began arresting migrants brought to the U.S. by the ISIS-linked smuggling group several months ago, no information has emerged tying them to a threat to the U.S. homeland.
Yet. That official should have said no information has emerged tying them to a threat to the U.S. homeland yet. If the American public needs to know how serious this danger is, then communicate as though that is true.
We have ISIS-affiliated persons of concern roaming around our country. In what world is that acceptable? In Biden's America, that's where. Biden's scheme to use illegal immigration to change the demographics of the United States and nurture future Democrat voters is getting people killed. Innocent children, women, and men are victims of horrible criminal activity at an alarming rate. This has to stop.
Mike Morell is an imperfect messenger, that is true. He instigated the letter signed by 51 intelligence community members against President Trump. He called Hunter Biden's laptop from hell Russian disinformation. He was caught in a big ole lie for partisan reasons. However, in this case, he is right. The Biden administration is frequently caught flat-footed and if it happens with a mass terrorist attack, it will be unforgivable.
The only way to stop the madness is to vote for a new president and a new administration. Get rid of those who willingly put our lives in danger. Elect people who will secure the homeland and protect American lives.
