Six Suspected Russian Terrorists with Ties to ISIS Arrested in Three Cities

ICE pulled off a coordinated sting operation in three cities - Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia. Six Russian nationals were arrested.

ICE sources confirmed to the New York Post that they arrested the six people who came from Tajikistan. The arrests occurred over the last week after the FBI gave them a heads-up.

A wiretap was used in the sting. One of the Russians was heard talking about bombs.

“Remember the Boston marathon [bombing]? I’m afraid something like that might happen again or worse,” one of the sources told The Post.

My immediate question was whether or not the Russian nationals are in the United States legally

The target who was subject to the wiretap was previously released by federal authorities at the southern border with a court date next year, but it has since emerged he has potential ties to ISIS, sources said.

Thanks, President Biden. Biden's insistence on an open southern border is going to get a lot of people killed in a horrific event, as things are now.

FBI Director Chris Wray specifically mentioned ISIS in his warnings during congressional hearings. He said terrorists will exploit the open southern border to enter the United States.

In April, Wray warned lawmakers that a possible “coordinated attack” could take place in the US following an ISIS-K attack on a concert hall in Moscow — carried out by citizens of Tajikistan — that killed 145 people and wounded hundreds.

I assume the other Russian nationals involved in the arrests are here illegally, too. The number of suspected terrorists caught at the southern border has jumped from 11 in FY 2017 through 2020 to 362 in FY 2021 to April 2024.

Presidential elections have consequences. Vote accordingly.

The overwhelming number of illegal border crossers has caused some who are on the terror watch list to be released into the country by mistake.

Mohammad Kharwin, 48, illegally entered the US near San Ysidro, Calif., in March 2023 and was freed into the US.

However, it wasn’t until a year later the FBI notified ICE that Kharwin was a suspected member of the US-designated foreign terror group Hezb-e-Islami, or HIG. Kharwin was rearrested on April 11 and remains in federal custody.

There is also the case of a 27-year-old Somali national who turned out to be a member of al Shabaab. He was placed on the terror watchlist and said to be “involved in the use, manufacture or transportation of explosives or firearms.” He was released on the border in California in March 2023. About a year later, he was arrested in Minnesota by ICE.

It is only a matter of time before something horrible happens. It feels as though we are on borrowed time. So many potential terrorists have entered the country during the Biden years that if former President Trump wins in November it will take time to undo the damage that Biden has done. If Biden wins, nothing will change. Illegal immigrants will continue to be caught and released into our country, including many from countries that do not wish us well.

This is a breaking story as I write this. I'll update if or when more information becomes available.
