Actor Dennis Quaid said in an interview with Piers Morgan Tuesday that he will vote for former President Donald Trump in November. That's a rare Hollywood endorsement for Trump.

Quaid said he wasn't going to vote for Trump but he became convinced to do so due to the "weaponization of our justice system." 

And he likes Trump's policies. 

"Trump is the most investigated person, probably in the history of the world, and they haven’t been able to really get him on anything," he added.

Quaid said he sees a challenge to the Constitution with how the justice system is being used against Trump. Some things that Trump has said made Quaid cringe, but that is secondary to what Trump does in office.

"But as president… the only thing I liked about Trump was everything he did."

"What he did with Korea, with Rocket Baby, the way he defeated ISIS in three weeks. You know, people don't even remember it happened so fast. How he stood up for us overseas. The way he responded to China. He stands up to people and that's what makes him a leader. Rather than, what I kind of compare it to, what was going on in Jimmy Carter's administration, where we're trying to be everybody's friend and pal," he said.

"And there's some evil people and bad actors in this world and so, you know, people might call [Trump] an a--hole but he's my a--hole," Quaid said.

He sounds like at least half of the country. The Houston native has a new movie coming out in August on Ronald Reagan. It looks like it may be a good fit for him. 

Quaid said he thinks Trump works for the people.

"I’ll tell you one true thing about him is that I really feel that he is working for the American people. That's what he's all about, and I do believe that to be true and sincere," Quaid said.

He said he knew he would get blowback but he gave his opinion of President Biden anyway - he doesn't think Biden is "at the helm." He says things to get votes, not because he believes what he says. 

Quaid is right. Biden isn't in charge. He isn't up to the job and it's apparent to everyone. Biden is running for re-election like he's running for the Senate. His opinions change according to how the wind is blowing. He's an empty suit with no core beliefs. Plus, dementia.

I think that Quaid is saying what a lot of voters are thinking. They may not always like what comes out of Trump's mouth but it is more important what Trump does. His policies work. Everyone was better off when Trump was in office. 

Trump may not have been well-liked among other world leaders but they didn't do what is happening with Biden in office. Trump is an alpha male. Biden follows, he doesn't lead. Russia didn't invade Ukraine. Hamas didn't massacre Israelis and others in Israel. China was not as aggressive against Taiwan. Iran didn't receive billions of dollars from American taxpayers to fund its nuclear weapons program and terrorism, mostly against Israel. And so on.

Voters aren't looking for a friend, they are looking for a leader. They want competence and the ability to follow through on decisions. That's Trump, not Biden. 

Good for Quaid for speaking up.
