Hypocrite: Biden Touts Women's Sports After Title IX Debacle

President Biden supports women's sports except when it comes to flipping Title IX.

The Biden White House welcomed the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday at the White House. They are the WNBA 2023 champions. Kamala Harris joined Biden.

Biden acknowledged the team's back-to-back championship victories.

Hiden' Biden had to slip in a political reference, right? There is nothing subtle about the man.

The team presented Biden and Harris with team jerseys. Then Biden said, "Put me in, Coach. I'm ready to play." Just stop it, Joe. His staff was holding their breath that he remained upright and lasted through the event. He's not playing basketball anywhere. It's like that silly half-jog he goes into when he's walking to Marine One. No one thinks it shows he's fit as a fiddle to do his job.

The first WNBA team to win three back-to-back championships was the 2000 Houston Comets. As a Houstonian, I thought I'd toss that in.

Of course, as Biden delivered some remarks, he made a blunder. He gave a shout-out to the recently retired Candace Parker.

“While she couldn’t be here,” Biden said of the WNBA legend. “I want to acknowledge someone who we consider one of the greatest all-time coaches — Candace Parker.”

Whoever wrote that for Biden was mistaken. Parker never coached. Oops.

He got the rest of her career achievements correct, so there's that.

“She played 16 seasons in the league, two Olympic Gold Medals, two regular season MVPs, and a Final MVP,” Biden said. “And look — and going out on top of the world with her third ring, she announced her retirement from the game. She announced her retirement from the game but I want to thank her for an incredible career. We know she has a whole world in front of her. A whole world.”

Too bad Joe Biden doesn't have the decency to retire.

In his remarks, Biden said, “It matters to girls and women, finally seeing themselves represented. It matters to all Americans. That’s why as a nation, we need to support women’s sports.”

That's rich. The Biden administration is busy sabotaging the gains made by Title IX yet he claims "we need to support women's sports."

The old Title IX rules were a little too common-sensical for the Biden administration. So, as they are (hopefully) on the way out the door, Biden is pushing reforms meant to override changes made during the Trump administration. Trump's rules put in place a fairer playing field for young men accused of sexual assault on campus, for example. There was no automatic assumption of guilt - guilty until proven innocent.

For cases of sexual assault, they stipulated that schools only had to investigate claims that met a certain threshold of sex discrimination and were made through a formal reporting process. It also raised the bar of proof for sexual misconduct on college campuses. They prohibited investigations of cases that occurred off campus.

Biden's Title IX rules focus on social engineering

The new rules expand the definition of sexual assault and harassment. That means schools could investigate more cases of discrimination, abuse, or harassment filed by people on school campuses under the scope of the law.

College student survivors will no longer be required to attend live hearings or go through cross-examinations. And people will be given the right to "prompt and equitable grievance procedures," the rule reads.

LGBTQ+ students will be guaranteed protection under the law if they are discriminated against for their gender identity or sexual orientation.

Pregnant and parenting students who might receive unwanted sexual attention, shame, or punishment at schools will also be granted more protection from sex discrimination in the admissions process and on campus.

“These final regulations build on the legacy of Title IX by clarifying that all our nation’s students can access schools that are safe, welcoming, and respect their rights," said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.

Cardona is the worst Secretary of Education I've seen in a while, and that is saying something. He is more of a progressive activist than a department manager. Progressives like him have created the poorly educated young people we see today, like those in the campus protests. It's all about pushing a social justice agenda.

Biden hasn't been bold enough yet to weigh in on trans athletes in women's sports through Title IX. I'm sure it will come but maybe not until after the presidential election in November. He knows how divisive the subject is and women are finally beginning to rise up against men in women's sports. Parents, too.

Progressives can't define a woman. They don't care about saving women's sports as long as men who cosplay as women are allowed to participate in competitions. Title IX is meant to protect women's rights to play sports. Trans athletes are destroying those rights. Men are taking opportunities from women and it's not right. There is no fairness with men in women's sports.
