Democrat Congressman Joins Pro-Hamas Protesters at UT-Austin

Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX) conflated segregation and the fight for civil rights in the 1960s with the pro-Hamas protests happening now on college campuses, including the University of Texas-Austin. He joined protesters on Thursday to spew forth with his nonsense to the crowd.

Another useful idiot for Hamas emerged. It's all about love, you know. Ugh.

Look at this:

What does the American Association of University Professors think President Hartzell should do? Let the protesters take over and bring the campus to a halt as other college presidents have done, I suppose. The students were warned that there may be consequences when they did not cancel the protest. It is important to remember that professors indoctrinate students with brains filled with mush the propaganda that it is Israel that is evil, not Hamas that controls Gaza.

A well-organized pro-Hamas demonstration appeared on the campus of the University of Texas-Austin. The demonstration did not get out of control because the university officials were prepared and unafraid to act. DPS troops and university police came with riot gear and horses to control the crowd of about 500 people. It is reported that not all were students - some were outside agitators. Would you consider Rep. Casar an outside agitator? I would. He isn't a student or a professor. He was agitating those present on the second day of the protest with silly comparisons of segregation and civil rights. The congressman wanted to show his solidarity with the protesters.

What happened to the people arrested on Wednesday? Well, charges were dropped against most of them. Travis County Attorney Delia Garza confirmed that a judge dropped the charges against 46 people on Thursday after defense attorneys raised concerns about "deficiencies" in charging documents. The documents are known as arrest affidavits.

“We agreed,” and a judge ordered their release, Garza said.

A spokeswoman for Garza said the office will continue to review any cases brought against protesters and “determine whether prosecution is factually and legally appropriate.”

Many of those arrested were seen leaving the Travis County Jail Thursday. They were represented by lawyers with the Austin Lawyers Guild at no charge. Austin defense attorney George Lobb said at least 54 people were arrested Wednesday during the protest. Most faced charges of trespassing after they refused to leave when UT officials ordered the demonstrators to leave. He did not say if any of those arrested remained in jail on Thursday.

The arrests were criticized as a violation of free speech rights. Several hundred demonstrators were at the center of campus to continue protesting Thursday. Thursday's protest is reported to have been faculty-led to protest the police action.

Faculty-led? Unbelievable. Professors just keep indoctrinating students, don't they? Thursday it was against police securing the campus and protecting students.

Lobb said UT President Jay Hartzell and Gov. Greg Abbott were wrong to use law enforcement to break up Wednesday’s protest.

“It’s a sad day in America when someone’s got to lose their liberty over a right they are entitled to exercise,” Lobb said. “The violence did not start until the police showed up.”

It's a sad day in America every day that antisemitic rallies and hatred toward Jews are encouraged by college professors and local defense attorneys. It's a sad day when students and outside agitators are exploited as useful idiots for a terrorist group in Gaza. They have no sway over the Israel-Hamas war going on now. No one is looking to them for answers. Hamas endorses their actions, though, so there's that.
