Univision Tosses a Softball Interview to Biden as he Panders to Hispanic Voters

An interview with Univision and President Biden that was mostly prerecorded at the White House on April 3 aired Tuesday. Biden was interviewed by Enrique Acevedo, the anchor of Televisa’s  En punto.

It was a softball interview, according to Deadline, a liberal online publication. It was described as "more morning show than primetime" and highly scripted. The interview turned into a series of talking points and had the vibe of a campaign speech. Biden said he ran to make everyday life for Americans better and lessen the possibility of war.

The exact opposite has happened under Biden's policies.

Most importantly, Biden was asked what the greatest threat to democracy is and he said, wait for it, Trump. Donald Trump, his political opponent, is said to be the greatest threat to democracy in Joe Biden's demented mind.

There was a stroll through the Oval Office and a discussion of Cesar Chavez. It was reported that it was "a clearly scripted discussion" that allowed Biden to mention that Chavez's granddaughter, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, is his re-election campaign chair.

Biden is hemorrhaging Hispanic voter support. He doesn't understand that the wide-open southern border angers them, the same as it does other voters. During the 40-minute interview, he was asked about what he would do via Executive Order about the border. The term "death grip" was used to describe Trump's hold on the Republican Party and the reason that an alleged bipartisan deal on immigration failed. Biden said, “We’re examining whether or not I have that power .. we’re trying to work that, work through that right now.”

No follow-up question. No pushback that Biden already has the power, the same as he did when he used Executive Orders to rescind Trump's border policies on his first day in office. Just like in the American press, he gets away with that lie.

Biden attacked Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Well, I will tell you, I think what he’s doing is a mistake,” Biden said of Netanyahu’s ongoing bombardment of Gaza since the horrific October 7 attack by Hamas that left over 1200 Israelis dead, mass rapes and hundreds taken hostage. “I don’t agree with his approach,” Biden added after months of strong support for the Israeli government. “I think it’s outrageous that those four, three vehicles were hit by drones and taken out on a highway,” the Commander-in-chief declared of the fatal attack last week on a World Central Kitchen convoy that left seven aid workers dead.

I think it is outrageous that Biden is spewing anti-Israel rhetoric on Spanish-language television to win votes in Michigan and other areas with Muslim Arab American voters. This lack of decorum is sickening. Biden ignores the fact that yesterday more trucks than since the beginning of the war were allowed into Gaza with food and supplies. Biden and his ilk in the Democrat Party are now threatening Israel with stopping shipments of arms if Israel doesn't agree to a ceasefire. Biden now calls for a 6-7 week ceasefire. Does he know that Hamas has rejected that offer? It is reported that Biden did not mention the hostages. Shameful.

Mostly Biden wanted to use the interview to trash Trump because that is all he can do. He took many swipes at Trump throughout the interview. “Look at the way, when he talks about minority populations or Hispanics.” Nice try, Joe. That's not working. Joe Biden doesn't realize that Hispanic voters can remember how life was for them during the Trump years. It was much better for them then, thanks to Trump's policies. The economy was booming, unemployment was low, entrepreneurship blossomed, taxes were lowered, and the border was secure. All of those policies benefitted everyone, including Hispanics.

Biden said that Trump has a "very, very jaded view of the Constitution." That's rich coming from the man who is trying to keep his political opponents off the ballot and ignoring the Supreme Court on its ruling about student loan forgiveness. “He made it clear that he doesn’t plan on abiding by parts of it if he thinks it’s not appropriate. And it’s just… at least he’s saying it out loud.” Someone hand that man a mirror.

At the end of the interview, Biden was asked how he wanted to be remembered. He said, “I hope my legacy is that I was honest, straightforward, and did what I said,” I can see the campaign ads now.
