The White House finally released a brief statement about the murder of Laken Riley, a nursing student in Georgia on Monday. Laken was murdered last week as she jogged on a popular trail on the campus of the University of Georgia.

"We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Laken Hope Riley," a White House spokesperson told Fox News Digital. "People should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law if they are found to be guilty. Given this is an active case, we would have to refer you to state law enforcement and ICE."

The story was widely reported yet President Biden remained silent. He was in California raising money and he entertained the country's governors when he returned to Washington. He didn't utter a peep in public comments. He is often so quick to make comments when bad things happen to people, even when investigations are ongoing, yet in this case, it took until Monday for a statement to emerge. It was too little and too late to serve much purpose. Everything is politically motivated with Joe Biden and his handlers. If Laken was a black young woman would it have made a difference in Biden's response time? It's a legitimate question, given Biden's habit of immediately weighing in on crimes involving minorities. 

I think the real reason Biden remained silent until he was shamed into speaking up is because Laken's murder highlights Biden's biggest problem - the open southern border that is destroying our country. It is the top issue for voters this election cycle. The Biden border crisis is intentional and he refuses to do anything about it. Voters have noticed.

Biden is trying to gaslight voters into believing it is the fault of Republicans that the border is not secure. You can't make it up. Biden claims that he is now considering using executive orders to secure the border, which he can do at any time. He asked the governors when they visited the White House on Friday to tell their representatives in the House that they need to pass the Senate's financial aid bill which includes a garbage border security bill. He slammed Republicans during his appearance on Seth Meyers' show last night. He is shameless. 

Montana Governor Gianforte wasn't buying Biden's talk. 

Gianforte said he presented Biden with a copy of the 10-point border security plan that Republicans first submitted to his administration over two years ago. It called, among other things, to end catch and release.

Biden, Gianforte said, never responded to the initial letter. On Friday “he said he would read it,” Gianforte said, noting that he would take Biden at his word.

He added: “Joe Biden needs to do his job.”

Jose Antonio Ibarra entered the United States in 2022 via El Paso from Venezuela. He was released by Border Patrol and traveled to New York. He was arrested there and released. He then traveled to Georgia. He was arrested in October. Again, he was released. 

In a statement to Fox News Digital, ICE confirmed he had been encountered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Sept. 8, 2022, after entering near El Paso and was "paroled and released for further processing." ICE also said that Ibarra had been arrested by the New York Police Department a year later, on Sept. 14, 2023, and "charged with acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation." On Monday it corrected the statement, saying he was arrested on Aug 31, 2023.

ICE's statement said Ibarra was released before a detainer could be issued. NYC is also a "sanctuary city," which generally restricts law enforcement from complying with ICE detainers.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department also confirmed to Fox News Digital that Ibarra had been arrested in Georgia as recently as October. Ibarra was cited for shoplifting in Athens-Clarke County on Oct. 27, 2023, and he had an outstanding bench warrant in the county for failing to appear in court on the shoplifting charges, police said.

This is Biden's America. Violent criminal illegal aliens are released into communities. Ibarra's brother was found to have a fake green card. He was arrested for that. He is being held in state custody. For now. 

Laken's death is attributed to blunt force trauma. Ibarra used something that bashed in her skull. Police are not releasing information on the weapon. Then he dragged her body off the trail and into the woods to hide it. The arrest affidavit accuses Ibarra of "dragging the victim to a secluded area." 

Jose Antonio Ibarra is charged with the felonies of malice murder, murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and concealing the death of another, as well as the misdemeanor of physically hindering a 911 call, according to the affidavit filed on Feb. 23. According to new information added this week, Ibarra "did commit the offense of aggravated battery when he maliciously causes bodily harm to another by seriously disfiguring her body or a member thereof by disfiguring her skull."

Another illegal alien from Venezuela has been criminally charged. This time it is in Virginia. A 32-year-old male was arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a minor. Renzo Mendoza Montes is being held by ICE on two felony charges. He is illegally in the United States after being detained and released by US Customs and Border Patrol in El Paso, Texas, on September 2, 2023.

This will continue. Think of all the stories not being told about crimes committed by illegal aliens. The media is happy to cover for Biden as he runs for re-election. The story about Laken has been turned into a narrative that females are exposed to danger when they go for runs alone. Sure, there is safety in numbers but to turn Laken's murder into such a narrative is so wrong. 

Biden can try to blame Trump for the open border all he wants but only foolish progressive partisans will fall for that. Trump ran in 2016 on illegal immigration. Democrats lost their minds as he did what was necessary to secure the border. Voters will remember Trump's history when they go to vote in November.
