Joe Biden didn't do a Super Bowl interview but he surprised viewers with a commercial about shrinkflation. No, really. Yes. He stunned America with a video that left the audience pondering if it was a joke or not.
Sadly, I don't think it was a joke. Joe Biden has discovered the fact that shoppers are dealing with the issue of shrinkflation. What he doesn't seem to be aware of is that his policies caused inflation, which caused shrinkflation in the products we buy in the grocery store.
Of all the problems Joe Biden could have addressed with an audience of over 100M viewers, he chose to talk about the fact that his chips bag is not as full as it once was but the price is the same.

He calls shrinkflation a rip-off and demands that businesses do the right thing. You can't make this stuff up. Joe Biden sits in the White House theatre with some popular snack items carefully arranged next to him to alert Americans about the price of those items. We know, Joe.
“I’ve had enough of what they call shrinkflation. It’s a rip-off. Some companies are trying to pull a fast one by shrinking the products little by little and hoping you won’t notice. Give me a break. The American public is tired of being played for suckers. I’m calling on companies to put a stop to this. Let’s make sure businesses do the right thing now.”
I mean, we know Joe Biden is an authoritarian and thinks it is ok for the federal government to dictate all aspects of our lives, whether it is what stove is in our kitchen or banning the sales of smokeless tobacco. Now he wants to demand businesses lower their prices on snack foods.
Most disturbing is the fact that Biden doesn't make the connection between shrinkflation and inflation. Shrinkflation occurs with inflation. The Biden administration's reckless spending of trillions of dollars played a role in shrinkflation. Everything costs more, including ingredients to make snack food and shipping the products to retailers. Yes, less product without lowering the price is a rip-off, Joe, but here is a mirror.
Conservatives rightly pointed out the reason for shrinkflation.
Conservative radio host Jason Rantz wrote, "Joe Biden couldn’t do a Super Bowl interview because it would have been passed his bedtime, but he did have time to post a propaganda video hoping you won’t realize shrinkflation is a result of inflation courtesy of Bidenomics."
"The sad part is that more than a few voters will not realize this is just regular old inflation at work," Washington Free Beacon investigative reporter Chuck Ross wrote.
He thinks American voters are stupid. Some are but I'm willing to bet that the majority of Americans watching the video made the connection between Bidenomics and shrinkflation.
For the second year in a row, Joe Biden skipped the opportunity to do a traditional softball interview before the Super Bowl. I would argue that most interviews with Biden are warm and fuzzy ones with the slobbering press but Biden turned down CBS. His handlers know he isn't able to do such a high-exposure interview. I guess this was meant to show Biden is alert enough to know that shrinkflation exists but I don't see how the commercial did him any good.
Joe Biden blames everyone else for his failures. In this case, he is blaming 'businesses' for higher prices. Grocery stores operate on very thin margins. It is no more the fault of a grocery store that the prices remain the same while the volume of a package's contents shrink than it is of a gas station's price of gas per gallon. You may remember Biden used to complain that gas prices were too high because gas station owners raised the prices too high. Or something. He's clueless about how the private sector works. That is what happens when a lifetime career is spent in elected office.
Biden appeared on a TikTok video, too. He seemed to be making fun of the conspiracy theories going around about Taylor Swift and a possible presidential race endorsement. The account is "BidenHQ". It's the same one that features the Dark Brandon meme.
Biden is asked who he thought would win the Super Bowl.

"Two great quarterbacks," Biden said in the TikTok. "Hard to decide, but if I didn't say that I was with the Eagles, then I'd be sleeping alone. My wife's a Philly girl."
Then, after the president remarks about Donna Kelce's cookies, he is asked "Deviously plotting to rig the season so the Chiefs would make the Super Bowl or the Chiefs just being a good football team?"
I wonder how long it took to film that. I thought that government employees were banned from using TikTok. Was this video filmed on a government device?
Joe Biden is upset that Snickers bars are smaller these days but the price is the same.

It's not "greedflation", it's Bidenomics. It's what we have in Biden's America. Everyone's snacks cost more than they did when He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was president.
