Trucker Convoy Heading to Border States to 'Take Our Border Back'

A trucker convoy is heading to three border states. The truckers want to call attention to the catastrophe at the southern border.

The group calls itself “God’s Army” and the organizers of the “Take Our Border Back” convoy are on a mission. They want to stand up against globalists they claim are behind the open southern border that allows illegal immigrants to cross the border from Mexico.

The plan is for the truckers to leave Monday from Virginia Beach, Virginia. They will drive through the southeast. Stops will be made in Florida and Louisiana before they arrive in Texas. Three rallies are planned on February 3 in Eagle Pass, Texas, Yuma, Arizona, and San Ysidro, California. Organizers see this as a good versus evil fight. One professor of sociology told liberal publication, Vice, that there is concern the situation may escalate.

“This is a biblical, monumental moment that’s been put together by God,” one convoy organizer said on a recent planning call. “We are besieged on all sides by dark forces of evil,” said another. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God. It is time for the remnant to rise.” (The remnant, from the Book of Revelation, are the ones who remain faithful to Jesus Christ in times of crisis).

Experts say that the Christian nationalist overtones in this rhetoric adds a dangerous dimension to an already fraught situation.

“When people believe that they are working on behalf of God, they might be willing to resort to relatively extreme measures,” said Ruth Braunstein, assistant professor of sociology at the University of Connecticut and author of “Prophets and Patriots: Faith in Democracy Across the Political Divide.” ”And so you have a politically volatile situation that could become much more so, in part because of this rhetoric.”

Six people began organizing the convoy about a month ago. The website for Secure Our Borders calls for “all active & retired law enforcement and military, veterans, mama bears, elected officials, business owners, ranchers, truckers, bikers, media and LAW ABIDING, freedom-loving Americans” to join in.

Contributions are coming in for the convoy and the civil war kind of vibes being felt over the open southern border are flaming the fire. Twenty-five Republican governors have come together to support Texas Governor Abbott in his fight against the Biden administration.

The convoy’s crowdfunder on GiveSendGo has raked in more than $30,000 just this week, totaling nearly $50,000 by Friday morning. “Once willing to die defending this country, now willing to die protecting my family from what this country has become,” said one donor, who identified himself as a Navy vet. “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes,” wrote another.

Thousands of dollars rolled in on Wednesday, when Infowars’ Alex Jones interviewed one of the organizers, Pete Chambers, a former military commander who says he was a green beret. “There’s a war literally happening now for America,” Jones said.

The fight to secure the southern border continues to escalate. Governor Abbott seized municipal property in Eagle Pass. It includes Shelby Park, a place that the Border Patrol used as a staging area to process the flood of illegal immigrants. The park is not completely shut down. Locals still have access to the golf course, for example, but Border Patrol is no longer given permission to use the park. The Texas National Guard has taken control of the area. In the meantime, the Supreme Court ruled that Border Patrol agents may continue to cut the razor wire installed along the border by Texas. The Supreme Court did not rule that the razor wire has to come down. Democrats and other open border advocates try to paint the efforts of Governor Abbott as going against the Court’s ruling but that is not true. Every time the Border Patrol cuts the razor wire to aid illegal immigrants, the Texas National Guard replaces that razor wire.

The Supreme Court does not set policy or make laws. It interprets the law. Abbott is not doing anything contrary to how the Supreme Court ruled. The Texas National Guard also aids illegal immigrants. They don’t stand by and watch people in distress, as Democrats would like people to think.

These truckers are trying to draw more attention to the southern border while the situation worsens and is finally being covered by media outlets other than Fox News. I’ll be keeping an eye on what happens next.
