Newsom Plows into a Chinese Child as He Tries to Be Cool During Basketball Game

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) is running for president. Joe Biden just won’t get out of his way. So, Newsom is doing things that he thinks make him look presidential.

Newsom went to China to jawbone Xi Jinping and other Chinese officials on things like climate change. I know. The commies must have had a good chuckle over all that. Newsom even found some time to capture a photo op playing basketball with some Chinese children. However, it went very wrong and Newsom, who played ball in his school years, ended up plowing into one of the kids and knocked him to the ground.

Oof. Poor kid. Newsom oddly grabs the child and starts smacking him on his back. Then he hugs him and lets him get up. Not a good look, Governor Newsom. That didn’t make him look like cool Gavin, it made him look like lame dad.

Social media had a good laugh at Gavin’s expense. Rightly so. The arrogant narcissist deserves the ridicule.

The most important question asked was why Newsom was in China in the first place. Well, like I said, he wants to look presidential. That was the real reason. Newsom is holding out hope that Biden will not make it to the finish line to be the Democrat nominee and he will be waiting in the wings. If it doesn’t happen in 2024, he’ll absolutely run in 2028 and he wants to capture as much national and international publicity as possible until then. His ego knows no boundaries.

Newsom met with Xi on Wednesday, allegedly for the purpose of “renewing our friendship and reengaging (on) foundational and fundamental issues that will determine our collective faith in the future.” What a foolish man. China is not our friend. China does not want to be our friend. China wants to take the place of the United States on the world stage. Newsom is dangerously naive.

Another cringe-inducing moment came when Newsom drove an electric SUV. He swooned about how wonderful it was. It turns out it is manufactured by BYD Company. The corporation has direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party. It received billions of dollars in subsidies from the Chinese government.

“I want two,” Newsom said of the vehicle. “We got to get these in the States.” Someone might want to let the United Auto Workers know about Newsom’s endorsement of the competition. President Joe Biden might want to be read in too. The inaptly named Inflation Reduction Act was to spur American electric vehicles, not make it easier for the Chinese to dump their slave-labor-produced vehicles here.

Sure, take that China-made SUV talk back to California, Gavin. See how popular that is with voters.

Newsom claimed that he spoke with Xi about fentanyl. He admitted that Xi said he wanted more specific information. Yet, Newsom naively says it was a good conversation.

His claim that he spoke frankly with Chinese regime leader Xi Jinping about fentanyl is absurd. Newsom described the conversation as “remarkably positive,” adding, “The president was rather explicit about the desire to be even more specific in terms of what is needed, in terms of calling out and identifying where these chemicals are going.”

If Xi needs specifics, Newsom might send him the eight indictments our Department of Justice filed against 28 Chinese people and organizations in the fentanyl supply chain from China, through Mexico, to the United States. The chemicals are named in the indictment. The Chinese companies and individuals are named as well.

Of course the most absurd part of the trip was Newsom’s claim that he spoke to Xi about climate change. China is one of the worst polluters on the planet but Newsom acts like he was setting Xi straight. How can anyone take this man seriously?

Congressman Mike Gallagher is Chairman of The Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party. He wrote an op-ed published in the Daily Mail. He described all the ways that China refuses to be a partner in reducing manmade causes of climate change. Perhaps Newsom should read it.

Let’s look at the CCP’s environmental record: According to the World Bank, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is responsible for 33% of all global greenhouse emissions, more than every developed country combined.

And while the United States and Europe are reducing carbon emissions, in China emissions continue to skyrocket, increasing 10% between 2022 to 2023 alone.

Last year, the CCP opened an average of two new coal plants every week, which is six times more than the rest of the world combined, and in the last year alone, China approved more coal plant capacity than exists on the continent of Europe.

No wonder air pollution in China causes a staggering two million deaths a year, according to the WHO.

Gallagher also points out that China is busy polluting the oceans and China’s ground water, too.

Governor Newsom has a strange notion of success. He looks like a fool. Perhaps he should stay home and concentrate on his state’s problems. There are plenty to keep him busy.
