Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) tore into reporters for not bothering to do their job and write about the Biden border crisis. During a press conference with Senators John Cornyn, Ted Cruz, Marsha Blackburn, and Lindsey Graham, she didn’t hold back.

As you see in the video, her comments to the reporters were a pleasure to hear. It is way past time for people to tell the Washington media to do their job. It’s inconvenient for them because they had a heyday blasting Trump for being mean to illegal aliens. They accused him of civil rights abuses because he detained them, often in the ‘cages’ built and used during the Obama-Biden administration. Trump was torn a new one when adults were separated from children. All of these things are happening again, only in even greater numbers. The difference between the previous administration and the present one is that the previous one got the border under control. It will never be 100 percent closed to illegals but it was very manageable. Joe Biden was handed a manageable southern border when he was inaugurated.

On Joe Biden’s very first day in office, he took out his pen and signed executive orders to undo all of the previous administration’s work on securing the southern border. He was determined to prove he is not Trump. Mission accomplished, Joe. He froze deportations, allowed illegal aliens to remain in the United States despite little hope for asylum, and DHS went about flying and bussing illegal aliens to every Congressional district in America. Most of the moving around of illegals by DHS has been done under the cover of night. Most transparent administration ever!

Senator Britt delivered a brutal recollection of her trips to the southern border since entering the Senate. She’s a freshman senator, coming to the Senate in 2023. She is a businesswoman and an attorney. She knows how to articulate her position and she makes people listen. More just like her, please.

She thanked Senator Blackburn for taking her to see the southern border when she took office and she thanked Senator Cornyn for hosting a trip to the border for senators.

“I would have never seen the border firsthand if this woman didn’t know that I needed to see it immediately upon entering the United States Senate,” Britt told the reporters at the press conference. “I followed up with a trip with John Cornyn, because they care. These people down there, Senator Blackburn would talk to them, she knew them. Women would tell us their stories and they are brutalizing, and if you are not telling it that’s on you.”

“When a woman sits there and tells you not just about being raped but how many times a day she’s raped. When she tells you about having to lay in that bed while they come in and out and in and out it’s disgusting and it’s despicable,” Britt continued, her voice breaking with emotion. “Folks, you look at the number of people that have died at the border because Joe Biden has made it more and more enticing to come here. Make no mistake, this is a result of failed policies. We could fix this. We can’t throw money at this and fix it. We have to actually change the policies.”

Brutally honest dialogue there. And, refreshing that she did not hold back. She didn’t shield the reporters from what they needed to hear.

Reporters don’t want to report on the Biden border because it is bad for Joe Biden and his failure of an administration. The press protect Democrats, no matter how horrible they are at their jobs. There is a presidential primary season coming up and Joe Biden is very unpopular, even with Democrat voters. D.C. reporters are lazy and predictable. They turn a blind eye to what is going on and they willingly print the administration’s talking points. They expect their readers to be stupid enough to believe it when White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says the border is secure and Biden’s policies are working. So, that is what they report. When DHS Secretary Mayorkas testifies before Congress and outright lies that the border is secure and everything is going well, there is no pushback from reporters. They just print what he says as though it is true. They are complicit in the Biden border crisis.

Britt spoke movingly of speaking with Border Patrol agents who are exhausted. They just want to do the job they were hired to do, not be paper pushers as they have to be now. They told the senator about the horrors of finding the bodies of dead women and children in the Rio Grande River.

I am not naive. I know this won’t be a lightbulb moment for the Washington press. They won’t suddenly have the clarity of remembering why they went to journalism school. They are a part of The Swamp and they like the status quo. No matter what, Republicans are bad and Democrats are not.

Good luck to Senator Britt. I hope she’s around for a long time – certainly long enough to shame the press on a regular basis.
