She won’t go away. Her desire for power is too great. With her re-election all but guaranteed, Nancy Pelosi will be elected for her 20th term in the House. That is 40 years in the House of Representatives.
Maybe she doesn’t want to give up those sweet, sweet stock trades. Maybe it’s because San Francisco is such a hellhole that she doesn’t want to retire and go back home. She will be 85 by the time she is sworn in. It’s crazy. Maybe she doesn’t think Hakeem Jeffries is up to the job she gave him. She did what she had to do in identity politics – she made sure her replacement was a youngish black man from New York. He’s a mere 53-years-old. Just a kid. He is in his first year as the House Democratic Leader. He really hasn’t done anything to distinguish himself as the top Democrat in the House. Mostly, he seems to serve as Nancy’s puppet and appears before the cameras to trash Republicans while calling for bipartisan cooperation on whatever bill the Democrats are rallying behind.
San Fran Gran Nan announced her decision to run for re-election during a breakfast meeting this morning.
“Now more than ever our City needs us to advance San Francisco values and further our recovery. Our country needs America to show the world that our flag is still there, with liberty and justice for ALL. That is why I am running for reelection — and respectfully ask for your vote. -Nancy,” she wrote in a post on social media.

As of now, as I write this post, Pelosi has not bothered to have her staff update her X (formerly Twitter) account with the news.
What are “San Francisco values”, Nancy? And, how is the recovery happening when so many major retailers are closing up and moving out of downtown San Francisco? Most people hear San Francisco and think of homeless people taking over city streets, a high crime rate because criminals are not prosecuted but released and allowed to roam the streets as though nothing happened, and people moving out of the city for safer areas. How has Nancy Pelosi helped her community?
She’s stayed in office long enough to get a federal building in her city named for her. Too bad the area around it is so unsafe.
She is a prolific fundraiser for her party. She knows how to count votes and get bills passed as Speaker of the House, which she was twice. She slobbers over Joe Biden. It’s mutual.

Both parties are top-heavy with oldsters. That is why Hakeem Jeffries and the current Speaker McCarthy look so young in comparison. McCarthy is 58.
Her new website looks to be good for a couple of laughs.
On her new campaign website, Pelosi cited the need to protect American democracy as one of the reasons for running again.
“Our vision for a world at peace requires a strong democracy at home and support for diplomacy and allies around the world,” she said. “We must defend our democracy from assaults on the truth, the assault on the U.S. Capitol, and the assault on voting rights.”
That’s rich. Pelosi did the bidding of Hillary Clinton and launched not one but two impeachments against Trump. The first one was brought because of a completely fabricated story of Russian collusion. Everyone knew it was a lie but Democrats and their cohorts in the press went along with it. They are the true threats to democracy.
