Delicious: Rolling Stone had to issue a correction for reporting neo-Nazis are DeSantis supporters

Townhall Media

Rolling Stone magazine gathered no moss with its reporting that the neo-Nazis protesting in Florida over the weekend are DeSantis supporters. They weren’t DeSantis supporters and thanks to backlash, the magazine had to issue a correction for the mention.

When one of the marchers yelled, “We’re all DeSantis supporters!”, that was the only part of the quote the article printed. The correction to the article reads:

UPDATE 9/4/23 11:52pm: The original version of this article quoted a marcher as saying, “We’re all DeSantis supporters!” without including his second remark, “Fuck Ron DeSantis! Ron DeSantis is a joke. Ron DeSantis is a joke.” The story has been updated.

Oh. Yeah, that last part of the quote shines a whole different light on the protesters’ motivation.

The leader of the protesters, Christopher Pohlhaus, is a Biden supporter. The protest was near Disney World. The Anti-Defamation League warned about the protesters. They were neo-Nazis and white supremacists.

Days before the march, the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism warned it was coming. “Two extremist groups, the Goyim Defense League (GDL) and Blood Tribe (BT), are planning to gather in Florida in September 2023 for a joint, public demonstration(s) they are calling the ‘March of the Redshirts,’” the center said in a community advisory shared via email on Thursday.

The ADL describes the Goyim Defense League as “a loose network of individuals connected by their virulent antisemitism” with an “overarching goal” to “expel Jews from America.” The organization characterizes Blood Tribe, led by white supremacist Christopher Pohlhaus, as “a growing neo-Nazi group that claims to have chapters across the United States and Canada.”

“Blood Tribe presents itself as a hardcore white supremacist group and rejects white supremacists who call for softer ‘optics,’” the ADL writes.

MAGA supporter and conspiracy theory-loving Laura Loomer showed up. She said she was there because she happened to be in the area.

Some of the marchers individually expressed their distaste for Donald Trump, saying they prefer Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. When right-wing figure Laura Loomer appeared at the march, recording the Neo-Nazis with her cell phone, the crowd began to chant “faggot, faggot” in her direction. Loomer explained she was at the rally because she was getting her hair done nearby.

“We’re not voting Trump, Laura!” one marcher shouted at her. “We’re not voting for the right wing! It’s the kike wing.”

At this, another marcher shouted, “We’re all DeSantis supporters!”

The marcher followed up his comment with: “Fuck Ron DeSantis! Ron DeSantis is a joke. Ron DeSantis is a joke.”

This whole story was sketchy from the jump. Progressive outlets are desperate to torpedo DeSantis and to paint him as the candidate of choice for the most evil of people because of his successful conservative record in Florida. Biden and other Democrats have claimed that Trump is supported by white supremacists and neo-Nazis so they are trying to do the same to DeSantis. Turns out this group is comprised of Biden supporters.

The protesters outside of Orlando were not DeSantis supporters. The Rolling Stone X (formerly Twitter) account deleted its post promoting the article. I noted that this whole episode smelled like The Lincoln Project set it up. It reminded me of their epic failure with the Tiki-torch people who were supposed to be white nationalists who supported Glenn Youngkin in Virginia in 2021. The Lincoln Project grifters are no longer Republican grifters, they are solidly on the Democrat side of grifters. The conserving conservatism schtick was a lie from the get-go. They sold out a long time ago.
