You may have seen pictures or video of a very large group of illegal aliens outside the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan. Some were trying to push their way into the hotel, some decided to camp-out on the sidewalk outside. It wasn’t a good look.

Joe Biden lets them stay in the United States so they make their way to sanctuary cities. New York City is a popular destination. Mayor Adams is proud to lead a sanctuary city. No one should feel sorry for Adams and his trouble finding shelter for the illegal aliens. He asked for this. He virtue-signaled about it as though he is someone special. Karma’s a bitch.

Adams should be embarrassed at what a whiner he sounds like. The number of illegal aliens making their way to NYC from the southern border is miniscule compared to the humanitarian crisis that Texas deals with every day. Adams traveled to Washington, D.C. and met with DHS Secretary Mayorkas last week. Mayorkas promised to send a staffer to NYC to help with the surge. The total number of illegal aliens in city shelters is currently listed as 56,000. Some in the New York delegation, such as Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries were also in the meeting which is reported to have lasted more than an hour. The liaison is supposed to strengthen communication between City Hall and the Biden administration.

I’m not sure that communication is the problem. The problem is that the Biden administration just ignores requests for help and assistance with the illegal aliens. Mayorkas carries out Biden’s orders. Not only are illegal aliens allowed to remain in the United States as their asylum applications are processed but the Biden administration wants work permits for them to be expediated.

“Not only did we discuss the city’s federal funding needs, we also re-emphasized how crucial it is to expedite pathways to work authorization for those who are arriving and are already here,” the spokesperson said.

“Asylum seekers arriving to our country are seeking to build the American Dream, so it’s time we finally give them a shot at it.”

Sure, everyone would like to build the American Dream but the fact is that current immigration law doesn’t allow for asylum due to financial reasons – migrants aren’t granted asylum just to pursue a good-paying job. But, we all know that Biden wants an open border and floods of illegal migrants to populate the United States and then eventually vote for Democrats.

So, by Monday Adams was sounding the alarm to New Yorkers. There are 91,000 people seeking shelter who may make their way to neighborhoods around the city.

“Eventually this is going to come to a neighborhood near you, and it is — 91,000 people,” Adams told reporters.

“We need to localize this madness,” he said without elaborating, including when asked whether that included using outdoor spaces such as parks to house the migrants.

“We have to figure out a way of how we don’t have what’s in other municipalities, where you have tent cities all over the city,” Adams said. “We have to figure out how we’re going to locate the lives of the inevitable, that there’s no more room indoors, and we have to figure that out, and that’s what I’ve got the team working on right now.

Those cooling buses aren’t sustainable, you know. And, all those illegal aliens hanging around on the sidewalk outside The Roosevelt Hotel is bad for the businesses around it. Do tell, Mr. Mayor. After he ranted that the illegal aliens need to be able to work, he did say, “We need to control the border.” Funny how now he’s talking about that.

City Hall is legally obligated to provide beds for them under the decades-old “right to shelter” court settlements.

Pass the popcorn. Biden is pissing off fellow Democrats who expect more from him. Are they new here? Why would anyone expect Biden to do the right thing and secure the border and provide financial assistance to cities?

Angry lawmakers rallied outside of City Hall shortly after Adams’ press conference Monday to push Biden.

“All we’re asking is for the federal government to finally show up,” said Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso.
