Must see breakfast tv: Casey DeSantis responds to critics and their nicknames

Fox and Friends’ Ainsley Earhardt scored a joint interview with Ron and Casey DeSantis that aired Thursday morning. Casey did a lot of the talking. Topics ranged from the name-calling by liberal women against her, family life on the campaign trail, and her battle with breast cancer.

The nicknames of “Walmart Melania” and “America’s Karen” don’t particularly bother her. She says the Walmart reference is true because she does shop at Walmart. Her and every other young mom with a Walmart nearby in America. Leftist women who jealously attack conservative women like Casey DeSantis don’t like Walmart shoppers. Remember when Peter Strzok said he could SMELL the Trump supporters in a Walmart in southern Virginia in a text message to his girlfriend, Lisa Page? Smell was capitalized. Swamp creature Strzok clearly thought that northern Virginia residents, such as himself, are far superior to more rural residents of southern Virginia. It was federal government employees versus regular Americans who pay their salaries. Walmart shoppers are icky regular people.

Casey will have the last laugh when she ends up in the White House, whenever that happens. Hopefully, it happens sooner rather than later. We have a country to save. Fresh faces, fresh blood, a young conservative family in the White House would certainly be a welcome change of pace.

She said that the name-calling is meant to make her back down and that’s not going to happen. She has been compared to Lady MacBeth and a wannabe Jackie Kennedy. It’s all personal attacks levied by leftist bullies.

“One thing that the corporate media did get right about me, I do shop at Walmart,” Casey told Ainsley Earhardt. “I think it’s interesting, and you probably can sympathize with this, when they come after you and they’re just calling you names. That means they don’t want to litigate the merits of their case. They don’t want to have that conversation. They want to call you names.”

“They want to try to get you to back down, but I can tell you the number one thing, we will not back down when it comes to our family,” she said.

She was teary when she spoke about her battle with breast cancer, especially as the mother of three very young children who didn’t know what was going on. They still don’t know she had cancer (she is cancer-free now.) She underwent six rounds of chemotherapy, six weeks of radiation and three surgeries, unable to use her left arm much of the time. No one should underestimate the personal strength of this woman.

Casey praises her husband for his steadfast support during her illness.

“He was the dad who took care of my children when I couldn’t. He was there to fight for me when I didn’t have the strength to fight for myself,” Casey said. “You just want to tell it from the heart. And I felt the need to do that because I was so tired of all of the hits he was taking, all of these false accusations about his character.”

In October 2022 the future DeSantis campaign released a campaign-style ad with Casey. She explained her battle with cancer and how Ron helped her through it. It was the most effective and moving campaign ad I’ve seen in a while. She’s a former broadcaster and she knows how to put together a video. Leftist women who take her for a lightweight do so at their own peril.

The message from Thursday morning’s interview is that they aren’t going anywhere. Attack them but they aren’t folding up and going home. They fight.

“We feel that if we can do something to be able to change the trajectory and indeed preserve our American republic, and we can take one for the team by getting hit on behalf of the people of this country, we’re going to do it,” Casey said.

“We’re going to fight for your family. We’re going to fight for our family, and we’re going to fight for America going forward,” she continued.

I haven’t seen other wives of candidates on the campaign trail as we do with Casey. I’ve seen Karen Pence a couple of times but she doesn’t put out the same kind of fighting vibe. Different people, different personalities.

Introducing themselves to America is important with these television interviews. I hope she will branch out more with him as he is doing now. DeSantis was recently interviewed by Jake Tapper on CNN and did very well. During the summer months, there isn’t a lot of interest in the upcoming presidential race with normal people. There will be more focus after Labor Day when families settle back in to a regular schedule and the kids are back in school. In the meantime, television exposure is good.

Casey is a good cheerleader for her husband. She and he both think he can go to Washington and do for the country what he has done in Florida. If he is the president in January 2025, he would have the real possibility of being a two-term president and do what others have promised but failed to do. Drain the swamp? Sure, that would be great but how long have we heard that campaign promise only to watch a Republican get elected and then not do the job?

‘As long as I have breath in my body I will fight for Ron DeSantis – not just because he’s my husband; that is part of it – but it’s because I believe in him,’ she said.

‘If you want somebody to go up to Washington DC to clean house, to be able to put this country back on the trajectory where we are talking about – our rights coming up from our creator and our government being put in place to protect our rights that are ours, he is the man to do it and if I have to crisscross this country, I’ll do it,’ she vowed.

It might be nice to have a young family in the White House. It’s been a while. This family seems more genuine than the last one. Camelot was a farce. This time feels more legit. JFK accomplished little other than the beginning of the space program – yes, he was killed barely past 1,000 days in office, but there is little indication he would have done more. The vibe is different with DeSantis. He’s a worker and goal-oriented. And, it would be nice to have a veteran in the White House.
