Jack Smith bought a sandwich at Subway and CNN lost its mind

Just in case there was any doubt that journalism is dead, CNN was happy to remind us that it is on Tuesday afternoon. The insightful and brilliant minds at CNN devoted more than one panel of our intellectual superiors to let the viewers know that it had video of special counsel Jack Smith leaving a Subway sandwich shop at lunch time, sandwich in a paper bag.

If it was not for those insightful and brilliant minds on CNN, silly viewers like me would have thought it was lunch time and the man went out to pick up a sandwich. No. That wasn’t the real story. Anchor John King cracked the code and determined that Jack Smith was sending “a message to Donald Trump” with that sandwich run. You can’t make this stuff up.

Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he received a letter notifying him that he is a target in Jack Smith’s J6 grand jury investigation. Trump, of course, went off on Smith on Truth Social, as he does, and John King thought Trump was being a bully. King sought validation from the panel and received it.

“Jack Smith going to Subway today is a message to Donald Trump,” said King. “Donald Trump tries to intimidate people, he tries to bully people, he tries to scare you away. That was Jack Smith with no words and a simple $5 sub in his hand saying, ‘I’m here, I’m not going anywhere.'”

Dana Bash chimed in. “The imagery was intentional and spoke volumes.”

Those poor people. They are so Trump-deranged, even after seven years, they can’t do a broadcast without some kind of Trump angle to it. It’s no wonder that the network’s ratings crashed and burned as it did. These people are bat poop crazy. Also, Subway hasn’t offered a foot-long sub for $5 in quite some time. There’s a quick fact-check since no one seems to do that any more for CNN.

One of CNN’s “justice” reporters noted that Jack Smith “stood in line like everyone else.” My eyes couldn’t roll hard enough into the back of my head. Is he so special that this is an important tidbit of information? Most people could not pick Jack Smith out in a group and most people have no interest in knowing who he is. He’s a Swamp Creature with a reputation for being a not-so-nice person. He’s important in Washington, D.C. That’s about it.

Apparently, so.

Exactly.

Last month Smith indicted Trump with a grand jury in Florida on 37 counts over his handling of classified documents and claimed Trump obstructed the investigation. Unlike D.A. Bragg’s bogus indictment in Manhattan, Smith’s indictment in Florida is a criminal indictment. This one in Washington, D.C., which Trump expects to be indicted and arrested on, may be the one that, if convicted, will keep him from being president again, assuming he wins the election in 2024.

There will be plenty of Trump stories for CNN to talk about in the coming weeks and months. Thank goodness, because they were scrapping the bottom of the barrel with the Subway sandwich discussions. How embarrassing for them, yet, they don’t even notice.
