A migrant bus arrived in Los Angeles Tuesday night with 41 migrants from Brownsville, Texas. The Biden border crisis has brought about a new normal which is that in order to ease the overcrowding along the southern border, Texas Governor Greg Abbott sends migrant buses to sanctuary cities.

On a regular basis, Governor Abbott is sending buses carrying illegal aliens to cities like Washington, D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, and the most recent addition, Los Angeles. Abbott is taking the city leaders at their word, all are welcome in their cities and immigration status does not matter. Governor Abbott secured funding from the Texas Legislature to continue his program of transferring illegal aliens out of Texas to the cities they want to go to.

Those who take advantage of the generosity of Texas taxpayers do so voluntarily. Migrants apprehended and detained in Texas may be given a choice of remaining where they are or of traveling via bus to another place. They sign forms declaring their desire to leave voluntarily. In this case, it was 41 migrants who were in Brownsville. The group included six children, aged from 1 to 15 years old. Brownsville, Texas doesn’t have the resources that Los Angeles, California has, so, what’s the problem?

The problem is that sanctuary cities don’t really want the illegal aliens, they just want to preen and virtue-signal to Texas. Texas expects the president and DHS to do their jobs and secure the border with Mexico but they refuse to do so. When all else fails, the governor does what he can to alleviate the overwhelming problems experienced by small border communities. Migrant buses only deliver a very miniscule number of illegal aliens to places outside of Texas. 41 migrants? The Border Patrol apprehends thousands of migrants each week.

A funny thing is happening. When the migrant buses arrive, the media is ready to report on how terrible it is that Texas ships migrants to other places. DHS has been doing it since the Biden border crisis began when Biden took office, but never mind that inconvenient truth. DHS flies illegal aliens into small airports outside larger metropolitan areas in the dead of night in order to avoid press coverage.

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles said that half of the migrants are from Venezuela and the rest come from China, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, and Honduras. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who supports sanctuary city policies, calls the arrival of migrant buses “political stunts.” Governor Abbott says the migrants want to go to Los Angeles.

Governor Abbott said last month: ‘Texas’ small border towns remain overwhelmed and overrun by the thousands of people illegally crossing into Texas from Mexico because of President Biden’s refusal to secure the border.

‘Los Angeles is a major city that migrants seek to go to, particularly now that its city leaders approved its self-declared sanctuary city status.

‘Our border communities are on the frontlines of President Biden’s border crisis, and Texas will continue providing this much-needed relief until he steps up to do his job and secure the border.’

The migrants were met by non-profit groups that provided them with food, clothes, hygiene kits, and consultations with legal immigration attorney. The illegal aliens will be connected with loved ones or sponsors across the West Coast.

‘We will do what we must to protect the dignity and safety of these families whenever they arrive,’ the coalition’s executive director Angelica Salas said in a statement.

‘We will work together with other like-minded people and entities in Los Angeles to receive these asylum seekers with compassion and respect.’

Ms. Salas provides the jaw-dropping statement that not only are the “busing episodes” not well-intentioned acts but a “callous disregard to the human experience.” And she claims it has racist tones to it against “asylum seekers with black and brown skin.” “Busing migrants anywhere in the middle of a scorching summer is not kind, it is cruel and unjustified,’ Salas added.

Got that? Salas thinks it is “not kind” for illegal aliens to take a road trip to a city they wish to go to because it’s hot outside. It is summer, after all. Are family vacations taken by car cruel in the summer months? Why are the bus trips “unjustified” if the illegal aliens ask to go to Los Angeles? I guarantee you that a free trip to California is much more comfortable in an air-conditioned bus than it is on foot across the Rio Grande River or the desert. Nice try, Ms. Salas. Sit down.

The migrant buses will continue to roll as long as Joe Biden and DHS refuse to do their jobs. Secure the southern border and the problem solves itself.
