Patriotic business app CEO offers employees a "baby bonus" for having children

PublicSq is an app designed to link patriotic businesses with “quality products, services, and exclusive discounts.” The CEO of the company, Michael Seifert, has come up with an excellent idea for his employees and their families. He is offering a “baby bonus” if they have a baby or adopt one.

Think of it as a response to the Woke companies that are given lots of favorable press coverage for providing benefits to pregnant employees, such as paying abortion expenses, including travel expenses if they live in a state that limits abortion.

The birth rate in the United States has been declining for more than a decade. One excuse often heard is that babies and raising children are expensive. True. But thankfully some adults set that fact aside and start families anyway. Ideally, families would include two children to replace the parents’ spot on earth when they pass away. Even better would be to have three or four to continue to build the population and what goes with it – like the tax base. I say all this as the parent of an only child. Sometimes we make plans and God laughs.

The CDC reports that births are rising to moms 35 and older. The highest rates are being seen in that age group since the 1960s. But, record-low births are being recorded to teen moms and women in their early 20s.

Seifert is a pro-family kind of guy.

“We think that ultimately a company is only as strong as the families that built it, and then for us, we’re a pro-family company,” he said. “We’re unashamed about that. And we’re the largest marketplace in the country of pro-family businesses.”

Seifert explained that he sees the world going in a direction that is “anti-family” and called out companies that are offering abortion benefits to their employees such as Patagonia, Amazon, and Target.

“So we thought, what better way to express this value that’s core to our beliefs than actually putting some money behind it, putting our money where our mouth is,” he continued.

It’s a generous dollar amount and it will be delivered right away to the employee. The company will offer a $5,000 bonus to any employee who has a baby or adopts a child. The bonus is given to the employee upon the birth of the baby. For adoptions, the bonus is given as soon as the adoption process is initiated. Seifert explained, “adoption fees can be exorbitant.”

Seifert considers the bonus plan a counter to abortion culture.

“We wanted to sing an opposite tune and say, let’s actually put $5,000 behind any of our employees that were to have a baby, their spouses to have a baby, or they were to adopt, and this would be $5,000 after tax,” he explained. “They can use it as they please. Just as an awesome ‘thank you’ for being a great team member and to empower their family to continue to grow.”

Seifert says the quiet part out loud. All these Woke companies paying for their employees’ abortion expenses are likely doing so because it is cheaper to pay for an abortion than to pay for maternity leave.

Good for him. What a refreshing attitude among businesses today.
