Democrats still can’t define a woman. On International Women’s Day, Jill Biden awarded a Woman of Courage award to a man. Alba Rueda is a transgender politician from Argentina. Alba is a biological male who was honored at the White House as a woman.

Identity politics is a priority of the Biden administration. So, I suppose it shouldn’t be a surprise that of the women from many different countries honored by the State Department Wednesday at the White House, one was a man. As long as they can claim someone is a first at any category, it’s good enough for the administration.

The International Women of Courage Award, also known as the U.S. Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award, is an award presented annually by the State Department. Secretary of State Tony Blinken handed out the awards as Jill Biden congratulated them with handshakes and the occasional kiss on the cheek – Rueda got a hug, a kiss, and a photo taken with Jill. The first lady was making a point of showing acceptance of Rueda and it was a little awkward-looking, in my opinion. The Secretary of State traditionally presents the awards and Blinken performed the task as previous secretaries have done. Jokes were made by some comedians that a man was presenting the Women of Courage awards but the taking to task should have been reserved for awarding Rueda with the honor. One look at her and not knowing in advance if it was true, I thought, that’s a dude. I didn’t know who Rueda was but now I do.

That’s Rueda standing to the right of Jill Biden. She tweeted, “Their legacy shows girls everywhere that when you raise your voice, when you move through the world with your shoulders back and your head held high, you can shift the ground beneath you.” By awarding a transgender woman the same award that the other women – biological women – received, the message to young girls is that no matter how hard they work or what they accomplish, their recognition may be overshadowed or ignored because a biological man took their spot on the stage. Why is it so hard for Democrat women to understand they are participating in the Woke World’s war on women? Canceling biological women is not something to be celebrated.

Is this what feminists fought for? Why is it that it is always men trying to be women and taking away from women and not the same with women trying to be men? The imbalance is noticeable. Why are liberal feminists silent? This nonsense will continue until people begin speaking up and saying enough already. This isn’t right.

Jill Biden moved the award presentation to the White House so it would receive a larger platform. Jill loves attention. The presentation of awards is traditionally held at the State Department, which makes sense since it is an award from the State Department. That wasn’t good enough for Jill Biden, though. Eleven women from around the world were honored.

Rueda was presented the award at the ceremony alongside 10 other recipients from Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Poland and Ukraine.

Among the winners was the first female general to serve in the Mongolian armed forces, along with advocates for protecting indigenous lands in Costa Rica and ending discrimination against people with disabilities in Malaysia.

A new group award, named for Madeleine Albright, who died last March after making history in 1997 by becoming the first female U.S. secretary of state, was given to the women and girls of Iran, who have been protesting against their government since last September.

Conservatives on social media noticed the farce and responded.

Jill Biden delivered a standard speech that virtue signals that men fall short in supporting women, or something.

‘As much as we need women who are willing to speak up, we need more men who are willing to listen and act,’ the first lady said.

‘We need more men to hold each other accountable when their sisters are being hurt or left behind,’ she said at a White House ceremony for the 2023 recipients of the International Women of Courage Awards.

‘We need more men who nurture families, who feed and teach and mentor, who build safer communities. We need more men who know that caring, collaboration and kindness are signs of strength, not weakness.

‘Men, we need you to support the women who are fighting for their rights and to lift up those who have been silenced,’ she continued. ‘Be partners, be partners with women. Become the ‘men of courage’ we need. Only then will we be able to build a world where men and women are equal and all people are free.’

A new group award was presented. It is named for Madeleine Albright, the first female secretary of state. The award was given to the women and girls of Iran in recognition of anti-regime protests since the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini last September.

The International Women of Courage Award was created in 2007 by then-U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Since then, more than 180 women from more than 80 countries have received the award. As far as I know, Rueda is the first man to receive the award. It would be good if he is the last.
