Biden hires MSNBC pundit who signed letter that Hunter's laptop story was Russian disinformation

MSNBC analyst Jeremy Bash has been appointed to the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. He is a former Central Intelligence Agency chief of staff. Bash was among more than 50 former intelligence officials who signed a letter dismissing the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation ahead of the 2020 presidential election. Does he sound like a wise appointment given the fact that the laptop story was very much a real one and the claim that it was Russian disinformation proved to be a Democrat lie?

The letter that was signed by former intelligence officials was published in October 2020. Clearly it was meant to sway voters before the 2020 presidential election in November. It looked like an October surprise kind of election year attack but it turned out to be more than that. It was a deliberate attempt by those who signed on to the letter to protect Joe Biden and help make sure that Trump lost the election. That isn’t hyperbole at this point. A recent poll shows that the election could have easily gone to Trump if the truth had been told about the discoveries on Hunter’s laptop. At the time, the New York Post was the only news outlet covering the story. Fox News Channel picked up the story. Otherwise, the media was a willing partner with the Biden campaign supporters to tell voters that there was no “there” there on Hunter’s laptop, it was all Russian disinformation. At the time, the letter signed by the former intelligence officials was the icing on the cake to put the laptop story away before the November election. The letter quickly spread throughout the media though the claim was never substantiated.

“Perhaps most important, each of us believes deeply that American citizens should determine the outcome of elections, not foreign governments,” Bash and the other officials wrote in the letter. “All of us agree with the founding fathers’ concern about the damage that foreign interference in our politics can do to our democracy.”

“It is for all these reasons that we write to say that the arrival on the US political scene of emails purportedly belonging to Vice President Biden’s son Hunter, much of it related to his time serving on the Board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,” they continued.

Former officials, including Bash, finally admitted they didn’t know if the emails on Hunter’s laptop were genuine or not. They admitted there was no evidence that the Russians had anything to do with the laptop. Yet they still expressed that they were “deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.” That was their story and they stuck to it. Meanwhile plenty of prominent liberal voices in the media, including Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, spread the letter to discredit reporting on the emails on the laptop.

Democrats got away with it until only recently, almost two years later, when the media and some Democrats suddenly changed their tune and now admit that the laptop emails are, in fact, real. It may not sound like a big deal, looking back at the dirty trick by Democrats, but it did change votes in the election. The latest Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics (TIPP) polling shows that 78% of Americans say Trump would have won the 2020 presidential election if voters had been given the truth about Hunter Biden’s laptop.

“Terming the laptop ‘disinformation’ by the FBI, Intelligence Community, Congress, and the Biden campaign, along with Big Tech, impacted voters,” TIPP President Raghavan Mayur said. “A significant majority — 78% — believe that access to the correct information could have been critical to their decision at the polls.”

President Joe Biden spread the disinformation narrative during the one and only debate he would do with Trump, and he had shared a letter from a 51 intelligence officials aligned with him, saying the laptop story was a Russian disinformation campaign, echoing the 2016 allegations of Russian meddling in the presidential election.

The sheer corruption of the Biden family, a.k.a. Biden, Inc., that is evident in the emails on Hunter’s laptop would have been enough to change the votes of 1 in 6 voters in the 2020 presidential election. Team Biden knew that a united front from Democrats and their willing partners in the media would be successful in stopping the coverage of the laptop story. It worked.

Hunter’s personal behavior – the hookers and the drug use – isn’t the main concern. The real concern is over the corruption of the deals he was making to enrich himself and his family, including The Big Guy, Joe Biden, by cashing in on Joe’s political career. Emails point to shady deals in Ukraine and China being discussed and the 10% cut that Joe Biden expected from the deals are gamechangers.

So, now Jeremy Bash is reaping the benefits of his participation in the Democrats’ ugly October surprise in 2020. He is going from MSNBC to the White House as an adviser to the president on intelligence matters.

Bash served as chief of staff at the CIA and the Defense Department for Leon Panetta. Panetta also signed the letter.
