Biden: Trump Supporters are Garbage

You could tell that Democrats were feeling desperate by the way they latched onto a joke by a comedian at Trump's Madison Square Garden event. It was a combined effort by the entire national media, the Democratic Party and even the Lincoln Project which started running an ad based on comedian Tony Hinchcliffe's joke about Puerto Rico. Kamala HQ ran a Tim Walz reaction video.

I seriously can't count how many articles the NY Times has published about this, but it's at least 15. NBC News has published at least nine or ten. It's about the same at the Washington Post. Suffice it to say the media has acted as if this is Kamala's last hope.

As Ed pointed out in the headlines, there were a few voices of reason on the left including Jon Stewart who decided to keep his clown nose on this time and treat the comment like a joke from a very edgy comedian instead of a pronouncement by the Trump campaign.

Again, it's fair to say bringing an edgy comic to your big New York event a week before the election probably wasn't a very safe thing to do, but the Democrat/media pearl clutching over this has been way over the top and clearly partisan.

But it makes me wonder what they're going to do now because Joe Biden apparently just stepped all over the "garbage" joke in a way that is undeniably worse than the original.

Not only has Biden one-upped Hillary Clinton's deplorables comment, he has just said in earnest about half the country what Democrats have been freaking out that a comic said about a minority group as a joke.

Which is worse, having a comic make an off-color joke or having the sitting President of the United States call not Trump but his supporters "garbage." Hard to argue with Don Jr. here that what BIden did was undeniably worse.

Just as a matter of politics, this is a disaster. We've had reaction stories on the "garbage" joke for days every time someone new weighs in. Well, let's keep that going. Where does Kamala Harris stand on this very important issue? No, don't tell me this is nothing all of a sudden. We've just established that this has been the biggest story in the country for two days running. We need to know where Kamala, Tim and Barack stand on Biden's remarks. Get on it national media.

Here's the video.

I'm under no illusions that the media is going to play this straight. I suspect half of them will stop talking about this altogether now and the other half will run pieces explaining how the joke from the comedian was somehow worse. What they won't do is clutch their pearls over Joe Biden's remarks. It's just different when Democrats do it, see?

But as a matter of politics, this is over. The next person who brings up the joke should have Biden's remarks shoved in their face. You wanted this to be the story, well so be it. Let the denunciations of Biden begin.
