Alexander Secker was convicted earlier this summer of raping a woman he lured away from a bar back in April 2023. After being arrested for the crime, Secker announced he was now a woman named Lexi and was only attracted to men. At sentencing, the judge made a point of ironing out Secker's gender history.

Judge Taylor told Secker: "You now identify as a woman and are attracted to men.

"At the time of this offence, you were a man. You identified as a man and you were, on the evidence, clearly attracted to women...

Wiltshire Police previously said Secker was living as a man when the attack took place in April 2023, and the report stated the offence had been committed by a man.

Despite this, the court mostly addressed Secker as a she during the proceedings, but the victim did not.

Throughout the sentencing hearing, barristers and the judge referred to the defendant as "Ms Secker" and "she".

However, in a victim personal statement, the woman raped by Secker used the name "Alex" to describe her attacker.

She said: "He took away my trust in people and myself. The assault consumed me with shame and fear."

The woman, who attended court in person to see Secker sentenced, added she had experienced "unbearable anxiety, shame and fear" since the attack.

Last week, Secker was handed a 6 1/2 year sentence for the rape, all of which he will serve in a male prison. In the relatively brief time that Secker identified as a woman, he spent a lot of time online ranting about JK Rowling, Dr. Hillary Cass and other gender critical figures

On Medium, where he described himself as a “trans girl horror fan,” Secker obsessively wrote hit pieces on high-profile gender critical figures, including comedy writer Graham Linehan, Labour MP Rosie Duffield, JK Rowling, and NHS researcher Dr. Hillary Cass. On X, he harassed many of the same individuals, in addition to Member of Parliament and former Minister for Women and Equalities, Kemi Badenoch, and Baroness Sarah Ludford of the House of Lords. He also targeted notable women’s rights campaigner Kellie-Jay Keen, also known as Posie Parker, whom he labeled a “Nazi”.

“Is Dr. Hilary Cass a TERF? I don’t know. I don’t really care. In fact, it doesn’t really matter. The simple truth is that, regardless of her views on trans people, I don’t have a particularly high opinion of the woman, and she seems to be determined to ensure that it keeps plummeting,” Secker wrote.

He was upset that Rowling was critical of a Scottish rape crisis center which was run by a trans woman named Mridul Wadhwa. Wadhwa would later step down after a report found the practice of not reserving the rape crisis center for women had "caused damage" to some victims who didn't feel safe there.

In May 2024, leading up to his conviction and sentencing for rape, Secker condemned renowned author JK Rowling for her stance condemning Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre’s policy of allowing men to self-identify as women in order to gain access traumatized female victims of sexual abuse.

Here's the tweet by Lexi Bowen aka Alexander Secker.

Hard to overstate the irony of a now-convicted and sentenced male rapist (who subsequently announced they were a trans woman) attacking JK Rowling for saying women need safe spaces apart from men. Secker is a living object lesson for why Rowling was right.

Rowling commented on the story, suggesting Secker was probably not a one-off.
