Last month Antifa "journalist" Alissa Azar was convicted of felony riot over an incident that happened back in 2021. Earlier this week, Azar was sentenced to two weeks in jail plus probation.
Alissa Azar, 33, was led out of the Clackamas County courtroom with her arms behind her back, her wrists in handcuffs, bringing to a close the case against the livestreamer with admitted antifascist sympathies...
The state sought a 30-day jail sentence with unusually strict probation terms that included impromptu searches without a search warrant if authorities believed Azar had strayed from her probation requirements.
“She played a lead role in amplifying, promoting and organizing a violent brawl in a public park,” Deputy District Attorney Josh Cutino said. “She admitted that she would do it again and the message from our community should be clear that violence of this sort should not be tolerated.”
The defense argued for probation with no jail time so it looks like the judge split the difference. The Post Millennial has more on Azar's identification as a journalist:
"Ms. Azar misused a park to clash with fascists, placing innocent people at risk. Ms. Azar continued to deny being a participant in the riot and acknowledged only that she played a minor role in the incident," Judge Van Rysselberghe said. "Like the Proud Boys, Ms. Azar demonstrated no empathy for the innocent people who were at the park on June 18, 2021."...
Patreon and Venmo appear to have disagreed with allowing Azar to continue using their platforms for fundraising for her "gonzo journalism," which the prosecution showed at trial was a front for violent criminal activities. Following Azar's conviction, both platforms suspended her...
During the trial, prosecutor Cutino presented evidence to the jury that characterized Azar as a ringleader and organizer inside Antifa who actively participates in the group's violent direct actions, undermining her self-identity as a journalist.
But the far left group that defended Azar, presented her conviction and sentencing as "chilling."
“This sentence is an unprecedented and chilling punishment for a journalist covering a far-right rally and counter demonstration – even if that demonstration is deemed a riot by responding officers. Ms. Azar intends to appeal her case to the Oregon Court of Appeals.” Said Lauren Regan of Civil Liberties Defense Center, Ms. Azar’s attorney.
What is actually chilling is the response from the courtroom full of Antifa supporters as she was led away in handcuffs. They sound like cultists.

Outside the courtroom after the verdict, her fans resorted to more violence.

The woman who was arrested has been identified as Natalia Goudvis, age 26. Something very similar happened last month after Azar was found guilty. Outside the courthouse one of her Antifa friends, John Hacker, beat a man and left him with a bloody face. Hacker was arrested.
