Yesterday, David wrote about the messages coming out of BLM grassroots about the war in Israel. “The resistance must not be condemned” they wrote on Instagram. They added, “Let us understand the resistance in Palestine as an attempt to tear down the gates of the world’s largest open air prison.” In short, BLM grassroots sided with Hamas murderers and wanted to prevent people from criticizing the mass murder of Jewish civilians.
Incredibly, that was probably not the low point for a BLM group this week. The low point probably came in the form of this message posted yesterday by BLM Chicago.
There was a community note added to this before it was deleted. In case you missed it, Hamas terrorists used paragliders to go over the Gaza fence into Israel where they proceeded to murder over 1,000 people including over 250 young people at a music festival.

So the paraglider in the BLM Chicago image isn’t just aligning them with Palestine it’s aligning them with Hamas and the terrorism that just took place. BLM Chicago also posted some cartoons on Facebook and Instagram justifying the violence.
This one justifies Hamas’ taking of hostages claiming the hostages “are in fact Israeli soldiers.”
Apart from being stupid this is also false. Some hostages were Israeli soldiers but the majority were not. Some were young women. Some were grandmothers and some were people with dual citizenship.
But BLM claims racist disinformation is being used to spread “misinformation with absolutely no evidence” about Hamas. So I guess Hamas didn’t do anything wrong at all. Those 1,200 Jews must still be alive…or something.
The cartoon says the time for non-violence was over. “Stop telling Palestinians how to resist,” it reads.
The entire cartoon is still posted on BLM Chicago’s Instagram page. But about 24 hours after posting the paraglider image they deleted it and offered this lame explanation. “Yesterday we sent out msgs that we aren’t proud of.”
Yesterday we sent out msgs that we aren’t proud of. We stand with Palestine & the people who will do what they must to live free. Our hearts are with, the grieving mothers, those rescuing babies from rubble, who are in danger of being wiped out completely🇵🇸♥️🖤💚

You’ll notice there’s no apology for siding with terrorists and no sympathy for the people who lost their lives in the attack. And yet, something must have gotten through to them. Maybe some donors let them know the paraglider image wasn’t appreciated? Whatever happened, it doesn’t seem to have changed their minds at all, only made them more careful about sharing how they really feel.

BLM Chicago is an embarrassment but they’re not the only ones to adopt the paraglider imagery this week. This image is being used to promote rallies at universities around the country. This one in particular mentions CSU Long Beach which is very near my house but the same image is being used at other schools to promote this “day of resistance.”
Hamas flew paragliders into a music festival in Israel, then set about raping and murdering the young people there.
This student group uses the image to advertise an anti-Israel rally.
Sick.

The attack by Hamas is first and foremost a terrible atrocity against Jews but it has also been a clarifying moment. We’re seeing this week that many people on the far left will actually support terrorists murdering Jewish civilians by the hundreds because of their tremendous hatred for Israel. If I had claimed last week that BLM and the DSA and student groups on many college campuses would side with Hamas after a massacre, people would have called me a liar. But here we are and all of these groups are just putting it out there themselves for the world to see.
We condemn Israel's ongoing occupation and the apartheid regime under which Palestinians are forced to live in dehumanizing conditions; and we further condemn the US's continued funding and support of Israel's decades-long colonization of Palestine. (2/4)

A better world is possible. We call on all those who share our vision of global working-class emancipation to join the fight to end the occupation and decolonize Palestine – from the river to the sea. (4/4)
