Marilyn Manson wanted in New Hampshire for allegedly shooting 'snot rockets' at camerawoman

Marilyn Manson is in the news again and for once it doesn’t involve his (alleged) abuse of women. Well, it doesn’t involve sexual abuse of women, though it still involves disgusting behavior toward a particular woman. What can you say, this is the least bad news Manson has seen in months. The story involves a camerawoman who was hired to film a concert Manson performed in New Hampshire back in 2019.

Police said that the two counts of misdemeanor simple assault are related to an incident at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion involving a videographer.

Manson was performing a concert at the venue on Aug. 18, 2019, when the alleged assault occurred, police said.

The videographer, who was subcontracted by a New Hampshire company to record the concert, was in a stage pit area when the alleged assault occurred, police said.

Most outlets are pretty vague on the specifics of what happened but People spoke to three witnesses who claimed the incident started with spitting and escalated from there.

“He was spitting everywhere and one time it got on her camera so she wiped it off and looked semi-irritated. He noticed this and kept purposely spitting on her camera,” one attendee told PEOPLE. “I think her final straw is he got on the floor, got within 2-3 feet of her and hacked a giant snot rocket at her not the camera. She was pissed off and disgusted so she stormed off and he just laughed.”

“I stopped listening to his music after that and told my husband I would never go to another one of his concerts again,” she added.

A second attendee concurred, stating that he “bent down to shoot his snot all over this woman. I can remember him just laughing about what he did.”

“I was right there when it happened, she was beyond furious when he did that to her,” said a third man, who works as a security guard at the venue, according to his Facebook. “He spit on her a couple of times and then leaned real close to the camera and blew a huge snot rocket on her. After he did that, she almost threw her camera right down on the ground.”

I did warn you it was disgusting.

Manson’s attorney gave People a statement saying the videographer had demanded $35,000 after “a small amount of spit came into contact with their arm.” He called the assault charges “ludicrous.” I’m not sure Manson is in a position to shrug off any allegations against him as ludicrous at this point. Are we supposed to believe this is beneath him?

Like I said, this is the least bad thing Manson has been accused of lately and yet…it takes a certain personality to want to do something like this to a complete stranger just because you can. The fact that it was a woman cameraman also doesn’t help his case. It’s not sexual abuse or personal domination of the kind he’s accused of by many other women but it is a less intimate form of abuse and domination. If you believe Manson’s accusers are telling the truth about him, then you might wonder how far he’d take that sort of behavior with a complete stranger. And the answer to that question may be: snot rockets.
