Witness recalls Juanita Broaddrick was injured, crying after alleged rape

The first person to learn of Juanita Broaddrick’s (alleged) rape by Bill Clinton has given an interview to Breitbart’s Aaron Klein. Norma Rogers, who worked for Broaddrick at the time, confirms details of Broaddrick’s story and describes what happened immediately afterwards. From Breitbart:

I went back to the room and I can’t remember if it was because she didn’t come down to the meeting because I expected her to have a short meeting and then come to the meeting. And so I went back up to the room and when I went back into the room and she was just very, very upset. She was crying.

And the thing I think I remember most is that her mouth was all swollen up. It was cut. And she just told me. She started then telling me the story of how he had just basically overtaken her and bit her lip in order to keep her quiet and to keep her from trying to leave or get away from him. And then she proceeded to tell me that he had pushed her onto the bed, and had raped her.

Her pantyhose were all ripped. And she was just in a terrible state. Crying and just, she began telling me, you know, what had happened.

After Broaddrick packed up her things, Rogers drove her home. She described Broaddrick as crying most of the way home and appearing to be in a state of shock. She also recalls stopping to get ice for Broaddrick’s swollen lip:

And the other thing I remember is that on the way home I think we stopped at least twice to get ice. I would go up and get fresh ice and put it on her mouth because she was trying to keep her face from bruising and looking like something bad had happened to her you know. It was just crazy. The whole situation was just crazy.

Finally, Rogers backs up another aspect of Juanita Broaddrick’s story. In 1991, Broaddrick claims she was pulled out of an industry meeting at a Little Rock hotel and escorted to a semi-isolated spot where Bill Clinton was waiting to apologize for his past behavior. This happened about a week before he announced his run for president.

Rogers, who was also at the hotel in 1991, says she never saw Clinton but remembers Broaddrick being absent for a time and that when she returned Broaddrick said to her “You are never going to believe what that was about.” Broaddrick then told Rogers about the meeting with Clinton and his attempted apology. She recalls Broaddrick telling her she responded to Clinton by saying “Go to hell.”

Breitbart published an extended interview with Juanita Broaddrick last November.
