Washington Post: Hillary Clinton is an inveterate liar

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Hillary Clinton was asked about the truthfulness of her answers about her private email server. Clinton once again claimed she had never sent or received any material that was classified at the time, but the Washington Post’s fact-checker looked over Clinton’s answer and awarded it four Pinocchios.

Host Chris Wallace asked Clinton about some of her prior statements which, according to FBI Director Comey, were not true. In response, Clinton said, “Director Comey said my answers were truthful and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people, that there were decisions discussed and made to classify retroactively certain of the emails.”

“I was communicating with over 300 people in my emailing. They certainly did not believe, and had no reason to believe, that what they were sending was classified. Now in retrospect, different agencies come in and say ‘well it should have been’ but that’s not what was happening in real time,” Clinton continued.

Wallace played a clip of FBI Director Comey at a congressional hearing disputing Clinton’s account, but Clinton refused to acknowledge having sent and received classified material. She once again blamed the people who had mistakenly sent her the information (as she’s done several times since Comey announced his findings).

Here’s what the Washington Post concluded about Hillary’s latest explanation:

As we have seen repeatedly in Clinton’s explanations of the email controversy, she relies on excessively technical and legalistic answers to explain her actions. While Comey did say there was no evidence she lied to the FBI, that is not the same as saying she told the truth to the American public–which was the point of Wallace’s question. Comey has repeatedly not taken a stand on her public statements.

And although Comey did say many emails were retroactively classified, he also said that there were some emails that were already classified that should not have been sent on an unclassified, private server. That’s the uncomfortable truth that Clinton has trouble admitting.

This is far from the first time Clinton has been caught lying about this issue. Nearly everything she said in her first press conference was a lie and she continues to lie egregiously about this to this day. The question about the emails begins about 3:30 into this clip:
