Joe Biden's recent "crackdown" on illegal migrants is entirely "smoke and mirrors" according to the National Border Patrol Council representative for the San Diego sector. He should know since he has to watch the unfolding mess on a daily basis. Manny Bayon revealed that more than 6,800 migrants had been encountered crossing the border in his sector between June 5 when Biden announced the "crackdown" and yesterday. Combined with the ones encountered along the rest of the border, these numbers vastly exceed the limits the President set that would trigger the closure of the border. But of the 6,800 encountered near San Diego, more than 4,900 were released into the country's interior. In other words, the President's announcement was a political stunt and nothing has really changed at all. (NY Post)

Border agents have allowed 72% of migrants who illegally crossed into the San Diego sector since the Biden administration’s border ‘crackdown’ to continue into the US, The Post can reveal.

Out of more than 6,800 migrants encountered by Border agents in the Southern California border sector between June 5 and Tuesday morning, more than 4,900 individuals have been released, according to internal federal data seen by The Post.

“It’s all smoke and mirrors,” National Border Patrol Council President for the San Diego border sector Manny Bayon told The Post.

Border agents in that sector report that they have been given specific instructions to "exempt" citizens from more than 100 countries. (That is pretty much everyone.) The excuse they were given was that those countries do not accept border deportations. But why is that our problem? We don't accept illegal aliens, or at least we're not supposed to. They made the decision to come to our border uninvited. How they get back home or where else they go instead is their problem, not ours.

Biden's orders came with other exceptions as well. For one thing, any migrant using the White House's CBP One phone app to come here illegally is automatically exempt. It doesn't matter if they've been vetted or if they have a criminal background. If they can get their hands on a cell phone and install the free app, they are good to go. Also, if they rush the border at a designated crossing, even without permission, they similarly have a golden ticket to be released into the country.

The processing center in the San Diego sector is overwhelmed. They currently claim to be at 255% capacity. Most of the people arriving there are nearly impossible to identify and vet. That's because the cartel members reportedly advise them to burn their passports before crossing. Others are provided with false ID papers. Any "families" that arrive with underage children are automatically given a pass to be released. This has led to a thriving child trafficking business for the cartels. 

Given all of the exceptions that Joe Biden included in his phony order, what did anyone think was going to happen? We have long since learned how quickly information and tips spread among the illegal migrants traveling toward our border. Word gets around quickly. When the migrants realize that they will get a free pass using the CBP One app, the cartels will begin issuing them phones. If they are from a country that's not on the exemption list, they will obtain ID showing them to be citizens of an exempt nation. That's why none of this is going to work even if Joe Biden actually wanted it to work. (Which he doesn't.) The only thing that will work is to fully close the border and finish building the wall. Unfortunately, we will need to wait for a new president before that will happen.
