David wrote about part of this story earlier, but there's more here than meets the eye. Recently, someone claiming to be a migrant became a "migrant influencer" by starting a TicToc channel and offering instructions to others as to how they could "invade" the empty homes of Americans and establish squatters' rights. This was obviously a disturbing development because we already have far too much of that going on without some viral wannabe giving out squatting tips. Now, however, the identity of the supposed "influencer" has been revealed and he has had to perform his own vanishing act to avoid further trouble with the law. Leonel Moreno turns out to be an illegal migrant from Venezuela who was pardoned into the United States under Joe Biden's open border policies and placed in the Alternatives to Detention program. But he violated the rules of the program and is now being sought by immigration officials. He appears to be too busy to produce new videos at the moment. (NY Post)
The ‘migrant influencer’ encouraging others to invade the US and squat the homes of citizens skipped out on authorities shortly after arriving in the country and is now on the run from immigration officials, The Post can reveal.
Venezuelan national Leonel Moreno crossed the southern border illegally in April 2022 at Eagle Pass, Texas, and was enrolled in the Alternatives to Detention program, which allows federal authorities to track migrants either using ankle monitors or other technology.
However, Moreno didn’t follow the rules and is now listed as an “absconder” from the program, according to internal ICE documents seen by The Post.
Moreno was last seen near Columbus, Ohio, posing in front of a police vehicle. As part of the Alternatives to Detention program, he was supposed to have his location tracked via technology, usually an ankle monitor. But he violated that agreement and is now subject to detention and removal. ICE has labeled him an "absconder."
When contacted, the police in Gahanna, Ohio told reporters that they were aware of the photos that had been published online. But they "had no contact with this individual and we are unaware of his location.” Moreno allegedly has a wife and a young child who he has regularly displayed in his TicToc videos.
In other words, aside from his immigration crimes and perhaps some relatively minor breaking and entering charges, he's not one of the seriously hardcore gang members and violent criminals we hear about so often. So why the fixation on him when we could be chasing the ones who are murdering and raping innocent Americans? To understand that, you need to go through some of the content that he's been publishing, much of which has fortunately been translated into English.
Leonel Moreno is an instigator of the worst behavior who mocks the American justice system and in fact the American way of life. It's true that he plays the role of an amateur lawyer, offering advice about squatters' rights and such. But he also promotes panhandling, bragging about conning Americans out of as much as a thousand dollars per day. He flaunts the food stamps he somehow receives and the goods that he buys with them. He's filmed himself holding a Social Security card which is almost certainly fraudulent or stolen. He brags about never having had to work since coming to America and tells his followers that "work is for slaves." He advises them to not "humiliate yourself" by working but to instead be "creative" and ask for money.
In short, he isn't simply abusing the system and the generosity of Americans. He's bragging about it. He celebrates his laziness and his criminal activities. He's trying to figure out every way possible to game the system and build an army of followers so he can teach them all how to do the same. The idea of immigration is to bring the best and the brightest to our country so they can adapt and blend in, adding to society. We don't need leeches. (We have more than enough of our own already, thank you.) And we most assuredly don't need social media "influencers" training an army of leeches. This guy needs to be found and shipped back to Venezuela as quickly as possible.
