Suddenly, Breastfeeding Is 'Problematic'

I suppose this was inevitable given the current state of craziness in the world, so perhaps we should have seen it coming. From the origins of our species up until the invention and broad distribution of commercial baby formula in the late 1800s, it was understood that mothers nourished their infants by breastfeeding them. It was literally the most natural thing in the world, and the health benefits to both babies and mothers have been well understood. But we’re living in the 2020s now and everything that used to be taken as common sense is suddenly “problematic.” That includes breastfeeding. At PJ Media, Matt Margolis reports that some of our academic betters have concluded that promoting or praising breastfeeding as “the ‘natural’ way to feed infants” is ethically problematic. As you’ve likely already guessed, that’s because it might make the transgender lobby “uncomfortable.”

“We are concerned about breastfeeding promotion that praises breastfeeding as the ‘natural’ way to feed infants,” wrote Jessica Martucci of the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and Anne Barnhill of Johns Hopkins University in the journal Pediatrics.

“Promoting breastfeeding as ‘natural’ may be ethically problematic, and, even more troublingly, it may bolster this belief that ‘natural’ approaches are presumptively healthier.”

These same supposed medical authorities are further concerned that promoting breastfeeding could “support biologically deterministic arguments about the roles of men and women in the family.”

Oh, the horror! Imagine a world where we might recognize  “the roles of men and women in the family.” Someone should print up a few clues and email them to UPenn and Johns Hopkins. We already know the roles of men and women in this regard. The woman provides nourishment to the baby and the man (or the other woman if it’s a lesbian couple) goes out to bring home nourishment for everyone else, whether that’s via clubbing a seal or working at the local bank.

Why should breastfeeding be an awkward topic for anyone, even if they “identify” as being transgender? If we’re talking about a woman pretending to be a man, she should still be able to breastfeed unless she’s had “top surgery” or taken so many cross-sex hormones that her mammary glands have shut down. And if it’s a man pretending to be a woman, he didn’t give birth to the baby and wouldn’t be able to breastfeed it anyway. (Though there are some Frankenstein-style experiments going on out there in an effort to make that happen.)

Everything about the entire transgender agenda is bad for children, particularly babies. People are being convinced to chop off some of their bits rendering them incapable of producing a child in the first place. Others are given chemicals and hormones that could eventually prevent or complicate a pregnancy, in some cases leading to irreversible sterility. And if a baby still does somehow miraculously make its way into the world, the parents are probably just waiting around until they can start cross-dressing them and transing them up as well.

No matter how deeply anyone has sunk into this madness, can you please at least leave breastfeeding alone? We’re talking about the health and welfare of infants here. While you’re busy rejecting the entire natural order of the species, you’re leaving a trail of damaged children behind you. Stop playing the role of a monster and be a decent human being.
