France learns a hard lesson about migrants

We spend a lot of time focusing on the illegal migrant crisis in the United States, but Europe has seen more than its fair share of migrant woes as well. This is particularly true of France, where they originally took a far more liberal, welcoming approach to foreigners fleeing to their lands. Unlike the United States, most of the European migrants come from Africa, though a lot of them also arrive from Syria. But it hasn’t been smooth sailing in France and they’ve been noticing an alarming trend that seems to show up in all of these “destination locations” for migrants. Crime rates have been rising steadily, including violent crimes. And one recent study highlighted at PJ Media reveals that African migrants are grossly disproportionately represented in the commission of these crimes.

This week in “diversity is our greatest strength” news, a recent report from the statistics bureau serving the French Ministry of Interior has concluded that nigh on 70% of violent crimes in the Paris metropolis were committed by non-French perpetrators last year.

France’s “greatest strength” appears to be subway rape…

Doing some quick math using the data provided — African migrants committing 52% of violent crimes while accounting for a mere 3.2% of the population — we discover that they are statistically overrepresented in the violent crime category by a factor of 16.

The study they are citing comes from Remix News and the numbers tell a grim tale. The French Ministry of the Interior found that 69% of violent crimes, including violent sexual assaults in the Paris subway system were committed by foreign nationals. And among those crime records, 52 percent were perpetrated by people migrating to France from Africa. That’s a rather staggering figure when you consider that African migrants make up only 3.2 percent of the population. And this is not some new trend that just emerged. A similar study in 2020 found essentially the same thing.

Have you ever heard of the African Islamic Caliphate? It’s an offshoot of ISIS that’s been growing steadily. Back in June, they took over a major shopping mall in Paris.

Last October, the already rising crime rates, particularly in and around Paris, caused The Spectator to declare that France was now more dangerous than Mexico. An exclamation point was put on that claim when a 12-year-old girl was found murdered and stuffed into a plastic trunk in the capital. She had been assaulted and killed by migrants. Polling in France has consistently shown that a majority of citizens oppose mass migration into the country, but much like the current administration in the United States, the government does almost nothing to change its policies regarding migration.

This might serve as a quick reminder of a rule that really should have been obvious from the beginning. People who are willing to break your laws by coming into your country illegally are probably less likely to respect your other laws. It’s a lesson that we’ve been learning for some time now in America. Both property crime and violent crime rates rise in the vicinity of migrant encampments. The rape and murder of a woman in Maryland by a supposed “unaccompanied child” who showed up at the border enraged many. (Border officials somehow failed to realize the guy’s MS-13 gang tattoos had any significance.) And yet the Biden administration continues to urge illegal migrants to come to the United States by the millions. We could have learned a lesson from France about this, but clearly, nobody on the current White House team has gotten the hint.
