Air Force hiring DEI managers for big bucks

As with the rest of the United States armed forces, the Air Force missed its recruiting goals in 2022 and they are on track to fall short again this year by at least 10%. This is a particularly dangerous time to be understaffed when so many of our resources are going toward training and equipping the Ukrainian military and we’re teetering on the edge of possible conflicts with Russia and/or China. So what are our flyboys (and ladies) to do? Whoever is currently in charge of this problem inside the Pentagon thinks they’ve struck on the answer. We clearly need more diversity, equity and inclusion! With that in mind, the Air Force has hung up the “Help Wanted” sign and is looking to hire at least four new DEI managers. And they’re offering some eye-popping salaries for anyone willing to tackle the job. (Fox News)

The U.S. Air Force this month launched an effort to hire a handful of senior-level diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) managers and is hoping to place these officials in posts across the country, from Washington, D.C., to Alaska.

Each post pays at least $82,000 per year, and the top position at the Pentagon could pay more than $180,000 per year.

The Air Force declined to respond to questions for Fox News Digital about how many senior-level DEI officials work for the Air Force or how many more positions it’s looking to fill this year. But the Air Force has put out calls to hire four senior DEI officials since March 3.

Yeah… that should fix the problem.

This seems like a thumb in the eye to critics who have already lodged complaints about the epidemic of wokeness infecting the American military. Despite the testimony of a number of departing service members, the Army recently pointed to the results of a survey they claimed showed that “safety” was the number one concern for young people not interested in enlisting rather than woke policies. But they only released a summary of the survey to the media. When asked for the full results, they declined to provide them. Congressmen Mike Waltz, and Jim Banks are currently working to obtain and publish the full survey.

It’s unclear what additional DEI managers will do to help out the Air Force. The American military is already one of the most diverse workforces in the entire country. This is true in terms of race, gender, religion, and almost anything else you can name. The last great barrier to military service was the inclusion of openly gay and lesbian troops, and even that restriction came to an end in 2010 with the end of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

Perhaps if we put someone more competent in charge than Gen. Charles Q. Brown we could focus on how many service members we lost because of the vaccine mandates. That might offer a clue as to how many otherwise willing candidates didn’t show up at the recruiting offices when they learned that they would be forced to take the COVID shots. You have to wonder what would happen to the recruiting numbers if the Pentagon put out an official statement saying that not only is the vaccine mandate gone, but it will never come back. They should include that in their advertising, as well as deliver back pay to everyone who was driven out for that reason.

But this is 2023 and that would make too much sense. Instead, we’ll have people parading around and bragging about how “diverse” and “inclusive” the military is. Perhaps Sam Brinton would be interested in one of these new positions. I understand he’s currently looking for work, though they may need to put the offer on hold until he gets out of jail.
