Officials in Louisiana and Missouri recently launched a lawsuit against the Biden administration seeking information about alleged collusion between the FBI, the DoJ, and other agencies with social media companies to censor information unflattering to the White House. Lawyers for the White House attempted to prevent some of the depositions from taking place, including that of FBI special agent Elvis Chan. Agent Chan had been identified as having worked directly with Meta to remove certain news stories on Facebook. But U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana shot down the request, allowing the depositions to go forward. Needless to say, there are probably some very nervous people biting their fingernails in the White House this week. (National Review)

An FBI official will be deposed in a lawsuit over alleged collusion between the Biden administration and social-media companies to censor speech on topics ranging from Hunter Biden’s laptop to Covid-19, a judge ruled Monday.

The ruling comes in response to a lawsuit by Missouri attorney general Eric Schmitt and Louisiana attorney general Jeff Landry accusing the federal government of working “hand-in-hand with social media companies to censor freedom of speech on their platforms.” The lawsuit has grown to include 67 defendants, including top officials at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the White House, and others.

Last month, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana granted the two states’ request for depositions from several top-ranking governmental officials.

The White House has pointed to statements from Meta saying that Chan never instructed them to remove particular content from their platform, specifically stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop. But attorneys for the plaintiffs countered that argument, saying that even if Chan didn’t directly and specifically tell Facebook to bury the stories, he was in a position to have known who might have done so. The judge clearly agreed with that reasoning.

Looking over the list of people being sought for similar depositions, it’s obvious that the probe is digging into the actions of many more people than just Chan or his colleagues at the FBI. A total of 67 defendants have been identified thus far. They include Anthony Fauci, Jen Psaki, Rob Flaherty (Joe Biden’s Director of Digital Strategy), and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, among many others.

There have been more than enough whistleblowers coming forward recently to make the case that something shady has been going on. Big Tech has clearly been colluding directly with the Biden administration to suppress information that conflicts with the White House narrative, labeling valid news reports as “misinformation.” If proven, this is a direct affront to the First Amendment and really should be prosecutable.

It’s shameful how the Biden administration, having seemingly been caught with their hand in the cookie jar, is resorting to courtroom juggling acts like this to prevent the details from being revealed. The “most transparent administration ever” has turned out to be anything but, and the American public has been kept in the dark on matters ranging from foreign policy (the failed Iran deal) to these alleged acts of censorship of not only opinions but legitimate news stories that could have had a profound impact on our elections.

As I’ve stated repeatedly, I’m not a fan of pointless, doomed attempts to impeach public officials just to spin up the ratings of the political circus. But if these charges can be proven in a court of law, Joe Biden clearly needs to be impeached, even if the effort will almost certainly fail to remove him from office. “The Narrative” can not be allowed to overshadow the truth. The stakes involved are simply too high.
